In the end Drinkbox studios took an already great game, and made it that much better. So lace up your boots, pull on your mask, and dive head-first into the action! This is a must-buy that will be enjoyed by all. ARRIBA!
The dialog is clever, and uses many pop culture and video game references that made me smile. That, along with the wonderful art style and fantastic soundtrack, makes it a very good deal for only $15. It has some big difficulty spikes, but overall Guacamelee is still a very fun time.
An improved, expanded, more complete version of the game that delighted us last year.
If you've never played Drinkbox Studios' delicious platformer before, then this is the best place to start. And, while we'd never recommend double-dipping a nacho in real life, we certainly encourage it with this super-charged adventure.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition takes one of the best games last year and makes it better. If you're a platform fan, a brawler fan, an action fan, hell, if you've ever eaten a tortilla, you owe it to yourself to give Guacamelee! a try. It's smart, stylish, and funny, all while being one of the most sharply tuned games around. Better yet, it's free for Xbox One Gold members this month. Go play it.
Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition adds new life to last year's excellent Metroidvania title. Newcomers will enjoy the package, but veterans will struggle to find value.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition doesn't get much wrong throughout, and the inclusion of new levels and enemies adds longevity to an already great experience. It can be a little repetitive if played for long periods, but the unique and likeable art-style and effortlessly enjoyable combat carry it through.
The classic taste of luchador chicken, complete with spicy additions: Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition wins. For pinning.

[W]ith persistent cooperative play and plenty of exploration, genuinely fun combat, and gorgeous 1080p graphics, it's hard to find a better value for your digital currency of choice.
As fun in this beefed-up incarnation as in its original release, Guacamelee Super Turbo Champion Edition offers one of the best-designed and most original takes on the well-worn metroidvania phenomenon you'll ever find. The new material may not quite bring enough to the table to warrant a second purchase, and the game doesn't exactly push PS4 or Xbox One to the ragged edge of their capabilities, but once again excellent game design has less to do with technical specs and more to do with creativity and thoughtfulness: Features Guacamelee possesses in spades.
A longer running time helps address one of the few flaws with the original game, and single-handedly makes up for the lack of official new Metroid and Castlevania games.
Guacamelee! is as amazing as ever. And now that it's migrated to nearly every platform, everyone can enjoy it.
