Tethered is a delightful experience that shows the immense range of genres that can benefit from being brought to virtual reality. It boasts a playful and thoughtful approach to strategic god games whilst bringing you wholly into its world. For PSVR owners looking for something a little different, Tethered is utterly essential.

Tethered is a magical strategy game, with cute characters, and enjoyable gameplay mechanics. It’s been quite some time since I had fun with a God-like strategy game, and Tethered is one of the best PlayStation VR games currently available. It’s a shame there isn’t any way to continue a level after meeting the goal requirements, but each of the thirteen islands is quite lengthy.

For me, Tethered is the first true full single player game for PlayStation VR. It's not just that it offers great value in terms of playtime, but it's a great game, too. There's more than meets the eye with this cute little strategy game, and it's far too easy to get lost within its colourful worlds.

Despite falling shy of true greatness, Tethered is nonetheless just what Sony's new gaming platform needs to convince the naysayers of its suitability for ‘traditional’ gaming experiences. This is one PSVR title that you’ll want to hold onto.

Another genuinely great PlayStation VR title, that offers innovative gameplay and presentation rather than just tech demo novelty.

Tethered is a pleasant and relaxing game suited for players looking for a peaceful experience. Homewever, due to its peculiar gameplay, it's not a game which everyone can enjoy.

Turns up the speed on traditional god games and creates a clever tactical challenge with just the odd frustration left in its transfer from VR to 2D.

Tethered is a fun release that is now available for all PlayStation 4 owners to enjoy. There is a lot to like about Tethered. I have played a handful of strategy games in virtual reality now, and most have multiple hits and misses. Tethered is almost all hit, with fun gameplay and an adorable visual aesthetic. Best of all? It is a full and proper game and not a lightweight proof of concept like so many other VR titles.

The cute, colorful world of Tethered is quite inviting for players even if they’re new to strategy games. With its easy to understand mechanics and control scheme, many might find themselves drawn in more than they expect.

Due to the simplicity of the gameplay, the small number of buildings, and the general ease of play, Tethered is rather limited in its replay value, and the presence of leaderboards isn’t enough to compensate for this.

Imagine you stand in front of a kitchen table. The only things on this table are three cute little mice. Aww. Hey there, little guys. You are tasked with keeping these three mice from crawling off the table. Okay, you might imagine, easy enough. But oh wait, there’s a catch; you can’t just stand with your feet on the floor. The floor is lava.

Strategy games may be a niche market on console, but Tethered genuinely has its heart in the right place. With a little more autonomy in its Peeps, it could have been a great game, instead of an above average one. Certainly a good choice if you want a lengthy VR game, though.
