Ittle Dew 2 isn’t perfect, but does smooth out of some of the rough edges of its predecessor.

There’s greatness here, and damn, it’s so funny and cutesy-sarcastic. The puzzles are top notch, and the dungeons, when properly equipped, often a pleasure to plough through. But there’s just so much annoyance layered on top for absolutely no discernible reason, beyond presumably a fear that their sequel didn’t feel sufficiently different. The silly thing is, it was.

There are so many things to like about Ittle Dew 2. Everything from the quippy, hilarious banter to the unique yet traditional presentation, helps drive home the developer’s respect for the titles that inspired it, while also showing the desire to take a slightly different path than its predecessors. It is impossible to not fall victim to Ittle’s charms throughout the course of the slightly abbreviated campaign. This is an adventure that is absolutely worthy of your time. All it will take is a single dungeon before it has wormed its way into your heart.

All in all through, Ittle Dew 2 is actually a decently paced and pretty fun action adventure game. The controls never ruined the experience for me, and with the amount to see and do and the ease of use the entire game can be, I feel like anyone who grew up playing classic Zelda games will enjoy this one enough to see it through to the end. Just remember, it is more on the simpler side. At the same time, I feel like this may be a bit of a short experience for some epically for the $20 price point. It’s a fun game, but maybe wait for a slight price drop.

On top of the original base game, Ittle Dew 2 + on the Switch has the Dream World which adds 5 new dungeons with their own difficulties to conquer, a new boss, and cards to collect. It's a great way to make a somewhat short game last a little longer. And trust us, Ittle Dew 2 is so charming you'll want it to last as long as it can.

Despite some bland presentation, Ittle Dew 2+ succeeds as an action-adventure title in the Zelda tradition. Combat is challenging, opportunities for exploration and experimentation are many, and puzzles will make your brain melt.

Despite its childlike exterior, Ittle Dew 2 certainly isn’t childsplay; this is a serious adventure wrapped up in a colourful and simple disguise.

Ittle Dew 2 feels like a focused and expert approach to making a Zelda game. What Ludosity was able to accomplish here felt like the developers had a level of understanding of the gameplay on par or even better than some of Nintendo’s offerings. Fluid gameplay, challenging dungeon crawling, incredible replayability, and satisfying progression make the experience a very satisfying one. Fans of the genre – and even my grandmother – would get a kick out of Ittle and her adventures.

Ittle Dew 2 has many good things going for it, but I am wondering whether Ittle might thrive more now if she sets off on her raft, unencumbered by trying to be part of another franchise's tradition, to discover a new land all her own.

Thankfully, in the end the elements that don’t work as well are greatly outnumbered by what Itte Dew 2+ gets right. Its dungeons are absolutely a loving answer to the call put out by classic Zelda fans who’ve been itching for some cleverly-constructed puzzles in the classic vein. The length is also worth the price of admission (and if you get it physically it comes with a great classic manual and a map as well), including the base 8 dungeon experience as well as a host of additional dungeons you can complete for collector’s cards in the added Dream World that will push your skills even further. Overall, Ittle Dew 2+ was a very pleasant surprise and is, without a doubt, the best homage to classic Zelda gaming on the Switch!

Although based on established mechanics and a more comfortable and simple route to combat and puzzles, Ittle Dew 2 still manages to excel at the originality of its dialogues, characters, and the world. There are few games that can make me laugh and play an adventure like this with a smile on my face for most of the time. Ittle Dew 2 takes very little seriously which makes it a very interesting product to break the rhythm of super dark and serious games that are often the focus of the industry. Just a simple, fun and jolly game

A sequel, where more of the same is more than enough: more heart warming humour for a long and dark winter.

Ittle Dew 2 improves on the original in all departments. A larger world to explore, much better visuals and some of the catchiest tunes in gaming to date. It's biggest weakness is it's lack of innovation. Despite that, a sense of fun and a quirky attitude make Ittle Dew 2 a worthwhile and enjoyable dungeon crawler for casual and hardcore gamers alike!

"Ittle Dew 2 is a pleasant and cheerful return to form for the NES days action-adventure. It takes the Legend of Zelda formula and runs with it with dedication, mechanically. At the same time, it shows a sense of humor and willful lack of concern as far as the narrative goes. The story is simply there as framing for the experience and the jokes are by and large cleverly written. It poses a decent grade of challenge for the player, especially in terms of puzzles even if it takes a while to get into its stride. The environments and enemies are varied and require the player to constantly adapt their approach and because of the lack of any sort of stat-based character progression it rewards completionists but doesn’t require canvassing the game map in order to progress. Overall it’s a well-polished worthwhile little experience and I recommend checking it out. It’ll do."

I absolutely adore this game. It plays great, it’s really fun and funny, and doesn’t outlast it’s welcome. What it does, it does very well and kept me engaged the entire time. If you’re looking for a smaller adventure in the vain of classics like pre-Ocarina of Time Zelda and The Secret of Mana, you will find what you’re looking for here. Don’t pass this one up.
