I loved every minute of it. I woke up early to play it and went to bed late because I didn't want to stop. Play it now so we can talk about it.
Less than the sum of its parts
Prey generally impresses with its intriguing setting and rewarding exploration, but stumbles in its combat and technical execution
Bethesda has learned the lesson and has kept her promise to a halt, making a noteworthy conversion above average and considerably better than Dishonored 2. Despite some rare uncertainty and little customization, Prey on PC is from reward. If you have any residual doubt and are still pondering the purchase, we can assure you that you have no reason to delay: Arkane's work on PC is finally up to expectations.

I really, really enjoyed Prey. A pitch perfect marriage of Science-Fiction and Horror, Prey is close to what I imagine a modern, FPS Dead Space would be like, with a liberal helping of System Shock sauce sprinkled on top.
In the end, Prey is a really, really good game. I’d even venture that it’s borderline great. While I can and will ding it a bit for the annoyance of repetitive returns to previous locations and for the overly annoying mimics (particularly from an aural standpoint), there is so much to like, so much to discover, so much to learn that I would put Prey up there as one of the best games of the year so far and that’s some pretty impressive company.
Despite its issues, Prey is an enjoyable first-person shooter which begs you to explore its wonderfully crafted and at times awe-inspiring world.
It's not a new story, but it's told really well and that makes up for a lot. Not the hacking though.
Clocking in at around 20 hours, Prey is well worth checking out even if you're not a fan of horror or sci-fi. It might not be wholly original, but that doesn't make it any less fun.
After that, it’s just a gunfight.
If you aren't overly familiar with some of the immersive sims that are out there right now, you'll be in for a heck of a ride. There are precious few games right now which do what Prey is trying to do, preserving the core single-player FPS experience for those who don't want to just blast everything in sight. I wouldn't say Prey is the thinking man's FPS, but it's certainly got plenty of substance. In the absence of BioShock 3, this is going to be as good as it gets.
Prey is a game that borrows strongly from its predecessors in the genre, mashes up several play styles with heavy exploration and delivers a surprisingly satisfying experience.
As a whole Prey is a very big game. Difficult to catalog despite all its influences. Full of possibilities, with a sublime sci-fi atmosphere and, above all, with a lot of personality.

Prey is simply exceptional. The story is twisting and confusing in a way that is exciting, and it makes you crave the next scene. The survival-horror approach to combat and gameplay creates the right amount of tension, while the crafting elements and ability to use almost anything in the world allows for emergent solutions thanks to the different approaches to almost every situation. Most of the flaws are technical in nature, and they're not enough to severely impact the game, so Prey earns its place as one of the hallmarks of this platform generation.
Prey's strong start, captivating story, fantastic atmosphere and satisfying ending makes it one of the must play games. Gamers who are looking for a 15 to 20 hours of adventure shouldn't miss this one.

Prey is a divisive game that many will adore while others will be quick to bash. Prey is not a shooting game with fast paced action, a bevy of guns and bullet sponge enemies. It's a slow burn, one that rewards thoroughness and efficiency.
Prey is a great game with great gameplay mechanics and a decent scenario. It plays like Deus Ex and Dishonored with some pros and cons. I think, it's Arkane Studios' best game so far.
