Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World is a great addition to the 3DS library; it doesn’t reach the heights of Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns or the recent Rayman games but its mix of fantastic level variety and unique art design helps form its own identity without a moustachioed plumber.

Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World is the greatest thing to have happened to wool since knitting was discovered by the Egyptians. Aside from the necessary visual downgrade, it comes as a welcome surprise that the unbeatable platformer is so faithfully recreated on Nintendo 3DS. Don't miss it.

I would certainly recommend the game to people who love the Kirby and Super Mario franchises, but if you’re teetering on indecision, then you might want to move on, especially if you already own the game on the Wii U.

Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World may be lacking in a couple of areas when you compare it to 2015's platforming gem but it more than makes up for these aspects by including a handful of fantastic new additions.

Technical limitations and lack of co-op really disappoint in this new Nintendo platform for 3DS.

Porting and modifying the game for the 3DS made a good platforming game for a handheld device. I don't consider it one of the best, but it has what makes it unique with a slow-paced gameplay, and a special and cute world (especially Poochy's character and actions). The levels' concepts are fun. Some of them are great, but most of them are just OK.

Demand for Wooly World in any of its versions (Wii U or 3DS) to match the greatness of Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's World might seem asking too much, but the thing is that it has the potential to do so. What the game offers right now is enough to please Yoshi's fans at its most, even if the rest of the players won't get their expectations fulfilled. Still Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is a fun, adorable and enjoyable game, and one of the best in the platform genre that you can find in the 3DS.

While Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World is a solid platformer, there is really no reason to buy it again if you already played the Wii U version. If not, It’s a fun and joyful experience.

Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World gives a second chance for those who have missed the original Wii U version. The 3DS edition offers all the beautiful and brilliant levels already available on Wii U, with some small changes and new modes with Poochy as the main star. Perhaps not enough motivations to justify another purchase for those who already own the game, but definitely enough for everyone else.

Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is packed to the brim with content. It goes beyond a simple port by incorporating intuitive gameplay tweaks, from Poochy's helpers to customisable yarn patterns. It's a charming, well designed platformer that draws plenty of influence from Yoshi's golden years, but expands on them with cleverly executed mechanics. There are times where there may be a tendency to lean, just a bit, towards more gimmicky concepts, but these are maintained in such a way that it fits within the adventure in a natural way. Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is the definitive release, and a solid return to form for a dinosaur who was on the brink of becoming extinct on handhelds - again. A must-have for any 3DS owner who enjoys and appreciates the classic side-scroller.

The veteran will, however, more than likely skim over this one as the new stuff doesn't entice a secondary purchase. Next to that, the developers didn't exactly fix many problems, outside of making Mellow Mode more useful. Personally, I also slightly prefer to play it with a Wii Remote. The attention is on the ''slightly'' part of that sentence, because I still found the same enjoyment as before. If you are up for a meaty platformer, Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World will keep you entertained throughout February.

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World is, at times, more than just a 3DS port and actively tries to become its own identity. But just like its logo, Poochy is the bit on the side, tacked on as the sidekick, and never given the limelight. We’ve all been there Poochy, just ask poor Luigi. As a port, it just doesn’t quite stitch the entire tapestry for a polished finish.

Over all, Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World is a game exploding with vibrant colors, great gameplay, and fun levels that’s polished to mirror-like shine. It is a perfect platformer that can be enjoyed by both new and old who want to take a break from the overly realistic worlds presented in games today. If you have a 3DS, I highly suggest you pick it up.

There are a lot of great platformers on the 3DS, and if you’ve already played Woolly World on the Wii U, it may not be worth shelling out another $40 for this lightly updated version. That said, there’s a real charm to the level design, some real challenge in its item hunt, and a whole lot of cuteness to its aesthetic. It’s not a game of the year, but for fans of Yoshi, it’s hard not to recommend this one.

While the graphical cutbacks are disappointing, Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World is an unbelievably cute game with inventive mechanics and levels, and a solid platforming base.
