RiME Reviews
RiME is a extraordinary game with smooth platforming, amazing graphics, and one of the most heart wrenching stories in gaming.
With a magnificent soundtrack, stunning visuals and a compelling story, it ranks amongst the most memorable games I have played this year and probably will for a long time.
RiME had a rocky road to release, but thankfully the final product was worth the wait. A beautiful world with an emotionally affecting story and some fun gameplay. Not without its issues, but a solid adventure game nonetheless.
Rime is beautiful, it's simple in a lot of ways and has some nice ideas. It's worth grabbing and especially if you enjoyed games like Ico, Journey and so on.
...aside from RiME having good graphics, it’s tough to recommend this title at $30 ($40 on the Switch) when there are so many other great games that came out this year."
RIME is a beautiful third person puzzle game, which I can't get enough of. However, the puzzles are simplistic and don't offer much of a challenge.
RiME is a beautiful game. There's no denying that its visuals are stunning and the soundtrack is fantastic. The presentation is spot on. Unfortunately the game that lies within this audiovisual marvel is lacking.
All in all though, I had a wonderful time with Rime. Some fantastic visuals, solid gameplay overall, an outstanding soundtrack, and a narrative that, for me anyway, paid off tremendously by the close of proceedings.
If you're looking for a unique, surreal adventure with puzzle-solving and emotional storytelling, then Rime is a game that I can heartily recommend. Although there are some very noticeable frame rate issues, I still found myself immersed in the story being told and engaged by the puzzles. Rime takes cues from some of my favorite titles of recent years, and it also features some very clear influence from the films of Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle). If that's not enough to convince you, then I don't know what will.
RiME is beautifully short. It’s a game which could have been so much more, yet you’ll be happy with what it has become.
Although it’s riddled with its share of disappointment, there’s something really powerful about RiME that keeps me thinking about it.
If RiME can nail one thing, it´s his presentation, not only can it convince with a gorgeous artstyle and great textures but also with a beautiful soundtrack. Unfortunately, these are the only good aspects about it, since it failed at everything it tried, being more of a copy-cat than an unique game, clinging so heavily onto the path Team ICO or Journey paved.
Marvelous! No other adjective describes the quality of RiME more appropriately. It may seem a little slow paced for those who are searching for an adventure with more adrenaline and action, but for those searching for a different, emotional, beautiful (graphically and musically speaking), with a great story, you’ll have a great time with RiME. It’s going to be a journey you’ll remember for a long time.
Rime is a good game on its own merit but it's always going to be compared to titles that fans of the genre are probably familiar with.
This thought provoking, Puzzle exploration game is a must play experience.
Rime is a beautiful, beautiful game that manages to feel remarkably empty, even in the face of its earnest attempts. The aesthetic that breathes life into the island of Rime feels a bit too familiar, but it doesn't dampen its vast, ever-photographable horizons. Nonetheless, Rime is a light third-person adventure game with quiet puzzle solving, in a year where we haven't had much of those, which alone makes it a worthwhile respite.
It won’t present much of a challenge but RiME is a delightful experience from beginning to end. It urges you forward at every turn and while there are minor technical issues, it’s a wonderful game that most should explore.
