Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Episode 4: Who Needs You Reviews
Guardians of Galaxy is treading water every other episode and this is something that Telltale needs to address immediately if they want to keep up with making games. Anyhow there is one episode left which might save the day after all.

A flawed episode, but one which is finally getting the series back on track. At this stage though, we have to wonder whether it's too little, too late.
With the season ramping up in tempo and the story really tethering off towards a conclusion, Guardians of the Galaxy is really turning into one of Telltale’s best series’ to date.
Finally, Telltale seems to be getting onto the right track with this property, but it may be too little, too late. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - Episode Four: Who Needs You is enjoyable but still has issues, especially with its unlikeable characters.
Although the base story surrounding the Eternity Forge and Hala seemed like it was ready to finally conclude, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - Episode Four: Who Needs You does its best to drag out that narrative thread. By diverting the story into a seemingly minor "cave escape" sequence, it surprisingly delivers plenty of emotions and ends up becoming quite an important episode in the scheme of things. The same old menial gameplay features here, though, with some uninspiring sequences to endure in order to get to the meaty parts of this character-driven story.
As a whole I will give episode 4 in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy an 8/10. While there are oh so many things I adored, the stuff that’re keeping it from scoring higher are the fact that the major choices didn’t turn out to be as consequential as I’d wanted them to, I would have also liked more engaging pick of stuff to throw out or keep and the entire episode feeling a bit like a filler to the main plot.
Episode Four improves on its predecessor in most ways and sets the stage for an explosive finale.
Who Needs You has some strong emotional moments, followed by frustratingly unearned tension in the group.

The best episode of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series yet, Who Needs You has a few good moments but still can't pull the season out of its general under performance.
The fourth episode is the lowest moment of Peter Quill's group. Slightly slow in the beginning, the chapter has some important consequences for the pack, in addition to extremely relevant sacrifices, with a rise on the action at the end.

As a whole, Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series features solid audio from the soundtrack to the voice acting.
The fourth episode of Guardians of the Galaxy might be filler, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Though it does not move the plot as far along, those that like the action sequences found in the movies will appreciate what is present here.
Frustrating gameplay aside, Telltale games are still primarily about the story, and episode four shows that it is possible to throw some interesting twists and turns into a narrative that seemed dead in the water. Getting to those points can feel a bit tiresome, and many of the connecting elements feel completely superfluous, but at least there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully that light grows even brighter as the series comes to its conclusion.
Who Needs You pulls out tedious nonsense and meaningless set pieces all to keep you away from Guardians of the Galaxy's actual story.
Episode Four - Who Needs You showcases the best and worst of the Guardians series so far. The jokes repeatedly fall flat, the story is largely irrelevant, and the characters are still pale imitations of their big screen counterparts, but after a fantastically dull first hour, the episode manages to conjure up some surprisingly poignant moments in order to make the second half the highlight of the series so far. While it's by no means a home run, or even on par with much of what the studio has done in the past with other properties, the ending of Who Needs You has enough emotional weight to make it the best episode so far, leaving us with some hope that the upcoming finale might stick the landing for the series.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Episode 4: Who Needs You? can be the weakest episode in the series, because the story doesn't have anything new to tell. Just predictable events happening in the same locations.

"Who needs you?" is a very well-written episode, and it is intriguing to notice that it just doesn't care about the not-so-interesting villain anymore. Player's choices now have an actual weight and we are curious to learn how the final episode will deal with it.

Overall, this episode happens to be one of the best and it's definitely going to get those who are playing excitedly to see what's going to happen in the fifth and final entry of the Marvel-Telltale game.
It may not be the most action packed in the series thus far, it's certainly one of the most memorable.
