Critic Reviews for Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame
When I first previewed Monster Energy Supercross many months ago, I thought it was a fun racing game with a lot of potential. I still think it's fun, but this first run at the license from Milestone doesn't come anywhere close to meeting its real potential.
Monster Energy AMA Supercross 2 FIM World Championship - The Official Videogame, to give it the full name on the box, is a step forward from the previous incarnation. It takes elements from other Milestone games such as the improved visuals and track deformation, adds a few unique features of its own and provides a perfectly acceptable dirt racing game experience. But, in a world where acceptable isn't quite good enough, I wish more developers dipped their toes into the bike racing arena to really push Milestone to another level. MEAS2FWCTOVG is solid but uninspiring.
Monster Energy Supercross is a solid driving experience and a good adaptation of Supercross in the videogame world. However, Milestone's work feels lazy and the game does not seem complete, so it makes the player want more.

Monster Energy Supercross demonstrates that Milestone can take even more advantage of the Unreal Engine 4 and that they are well on their way to realizing their potential. However, the studio continues to make historical mistakes presenting the same playable formula excessively supported in the Career mode without accompanying it of anything relevant.

A racing game that will surely satisfy the Supercross' fans, even with some technicals and artistic flaws.

While possibly catering to fans of the sport in terms of content, the overly aggressive AI and unnaturally twitchy handling mean that Monster Energy Supercross just isn't that fun to play.
Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Video Game is a well crafted and unique racing title that attempts to capture the unique elements of dirt bike racing. The game is fun and has a lot of detail in its gameplay elements as well as the riders, bikes, and tracks included. Unfortunately, loading lag times and other issues stain what would be otherwise a very solid racing experience.
