State of Decay 2 Reviews
State of Decay 2 is a perfectly fine game. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure, it may be buggy and it might be a step back from the original, but it is nevertheless still a fun game, albeit one that doesn't really motivate you to keep playing. To keep grinding. I imagine it's what a real zombie apocalypse would be like, we just wanted more from a game about it.
This zombie-crushing survival game features solid base-building systems and RPG development, but repetition and bugs bog the experience.
State of Decay 2 is an interesting "post zombie apocalypse life simulator" that forces the player to manage every aspect of a survivor's life. It's too bad that its story isn't very interesting. And what to say about those bugs : there are just so many of them... With better production values, State of Decay could have been a truly special game.

For a world that seems to so enthusiastically encourage players to always stay on their toes, it's supremely frustrating to see a game so often bungle it for you.
Still janky, still fun
State of Decay 2 is a decent game, it just needs fixing.
This zombie survival game tries hard to stand out from the flesh-hungry crowd, but glitches will leave players groaning
Fans of the original game will like State of Decay 2, but others will be unable to look past its numerous technical issues, underwhelming co-op, and ugly graphics.
State of Decay 2 has some fun additions that can keep things interesting. Just not quite interesting enough (especially when contending with a clutch of performance issues).
A mainly disappointing sequel, with some glitches that hinder the progress and the fun.
There's still plenty of fun to be had in State of Decay 2, though, especially if you liked the original.
A decent game that could be great if they ironed out the bugs and added a couple extra modes to keep things fresh longer.
Overall, I have some mixed feelings about State of Decay 2. It is a game that feels less focused than its predecessor despite making strong moves to deepen the experience in every realm. Focusing in on the details somehow made the game lose something; the steps the game took forward cost something fundamental and core to the experience.
State of Decay 2 is an apocalyptic game that also acts as a grave for some genuine ideas. Theoretically, developers had lots of ideas and plans, but they could not bring about the success in them and due to this, the output product is tainted with lots of problems. We hope that they articulate their plans and ideas more once they decide to move on to State of Decay 3.

It's quite simple. If you loved the first game, you'll appreciate the changes, like a more structured take on base building and community management. There are fantastic systems, hampered by repetitive and shallow gameplay that ultimately feels pointless. State of Decay 2's scale and lower price don't quite make up for its lack of polish.
Undead Studios' new zombie survival simulation captures both the tension and the monotony of surviving an undead apocalypse
State of Decay 2 aims to be better than its predecessor, and it is. However, characters´ modeling, bugs and poor optimization on PC are too much for this game. It is still an entertaining game, but its clearly unfinished.

State of Decay 2 has a lot to love, but it's overwhelmed by legacy issues and a slew of all-new ones that came along for the co-op ride
Undead Labs has broken a wing out of two necessary to fly and this has caused the IP's downfall. State of Decay now is a game like Sea of Thieves and Recore, or to be exact another disappointing exclusive from Microsoft.
