The Adventure Pals is a lot of fun, with its great humor, colorful graphics and considerable amount of collectibles to find. You will take on several quests to level up and unlock new perks, which makes this a must-have indie release on PlayStation 4. Massive Monsters and Armor Games have done a great job with his one, and I look forward to seeing what their next game will bring to the table!

The Adventure Pals is a welcome addition to the platforming genre, holding its own due to its quirky story, colourful graphics and accessible gameplay. I fell in love with the game and didn't want to put it down. It's not the most essential, original, or unique that's ever been made, and it has some technical issues, but these are minor complaints in the grand scheme of things.

The Adventure Pals is a superb action RPG platformer. With a fun story and an expansive world to explore, this adventure really augments the Switch lineup, and at a modest price. Definitely worth a look.

The ramped-up difficulty towards the end of the game may be off-putting for some, considering its very much kid-friendly exterior, but if you don't mind a bit of a challenge, The Adventure Pals is very much a worthwhile romp.

Regardless of the overall simplicity or the uncomplicated design, The Adventure Pals is a really charming platformer that is a joy to play whether by yourself or with a friend in co-op. It's a lighthearted, jokey journey filled with a plethora of fun ideas that is eminently enjoyable, especially with a younger gamer.

Colorful, wacky, and fun, The Adventure Pals is an entertaining platformer that’ll give you a reason why you should have your very own giraffe and pet rock as companions. While some levels feel repetitive and the dialogue text size could be tweaked, it’s a purrrtastic adventure to play on your favorite console.

The Adventure Pals is an amazing platformer which is fun for people of all ages with no difficult controls or adult subjects. The dialogue and overall story are crazy, wacky, and fun with tonnes of humour and plenty of WTF moments which will have you going "ahhhhh" at the TV. The controls are among the best of any 2d platformer I've played this generation and The Adventure Pals is proof that not all Kickstarter games are amateur or unpolished. With it's added co-op mode, this game can be played both solo and with a partner offering an experience you will both remember for a long time. Recommendation – Go and buy this game now

The Adventure Pals may not have been a big release but it has now became one of my favourite games I’ve played this year. It’s completely my type of game. Cute characters, funny wording and breath-taking art style. I love it all. It’s a simple game that doesn’t require an expert gamer to master and allows you to purely enjoy the masterpiece you’re pulled into. All whilst being able to share this with someone else using local co-op. It is ram packed with content lasting a lot longer than I had originally thought, usually indie games can be short-lived. Not this one, please play it. I promise you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. This charming platformer needs to be shouted about.

The Adventure Pals may not be the deepest or most challenging game in the platforming genre. Nonetheless, it still manages to stay fun thanks to its topsy-turvy plot, accessibility and the neat ideas that are sewn into the charm of its art style.

Despite being technically competent, The Adventure Pals alas becomes forgettable because of the lack of ambition from the developers. Because of the fear of making mistakes, Massive Monster played it safe, dooming the game to mediocrity. It can still be a fun pastime, though, especially if played with a friend.

It might lack a little originality but The Adventure Pals is a lighthearted adventure that’s as fun and as eccentric as its obvious inspirations.

Overall The Adventure Pals is an absurd ride that will definitely grab your kid’s attention, and perhaps even you, who are kids at heart. It’s sure to bring a smile to your face, even on the rainiest of days, just from its cute character designs alone. Although the gameplay itself isn’t the best out there, it’s still fun to play, even if it’s just something to knock out over the weekend.

It’s likely any and all criticism of the game would be centered either on the cutesy nature of it all or its more modest level of difficulty but given the abundance of brutally-hard platformers on the system already The Adventure Pals is a welcome change of pace. While it can easily be enjoyed as a solo experience the inclusion of co-op in the game is a great touch, and given its more modest overall difficulty it would seem perfectly suited to being played with someone younger or less experienced. If you’re able to play the game without cracking a smile at the sheer joy of it all you may be dead inside.

Is this worth your hard earned cash? You bet it is, if you like platformers then this has to be added to your collection. It's beautiful, sounds great, has a whimsical wacky story and is a joy to play. It's only let down in its performance from time to time which is a real shame and may put some off. Other than that and for me personally I didn't find much not to like and this game to me is a powerful reminder of why I love video games and reviewing them. Every so often you get a little bit of magic that comes your way.

The Adventure Pals is heavily influenced in both art style and humor by Adventure Time, and fans of the series will have no problem getting used to the slightly different aesthetic. Fortunately, it’s also a win for those who are not familiar with the series as its cute animations and repulsive dad jokes will leave you feeling solidly at home.

The Adventure Pals is a fun, if somewhat average, cartoon platformer that boasts decent gameplay and a healthy amount of collectibles for completionists. The gameplay can become repetitive, and the “random” humor is a bit much for my tastes, but overall Adventure Pals is a perfectly alright platformer.

Whilst The Adventure Pals does little to revolutionise the platforming genre, there’s no denying that its solid game design and charming world come together nicely to make for a delightful little experience. It hooked me in from start to end and, despite not being designed to necessarily cater for co-operative play, smashing through the game with a friend was a lot of fun. If you’re a fan of your quirky little platformers that aren’t afraid to embrace a silly sense of humour, you’ll have a lot of fun with The Adventure Pals.

Adventure Pals has a wacky sense of humor that you will love right from the beginning. The platforming is well done, but a little on the easy side. Despite the ease, Adventure Pals is a wonderful platformer with many collectibles to find and crazy characters to meet and help.
