With "Marvel's Spider-Man" Insomniac Games has succeeded in creating a grandiose game of a comic legend, which above all convinces with its unique feel. Action-packed battle passages, a multi-faceted storytelling as well as diverse missions don't let any monotony arise while playing. In addition to the fun turns through Manhattan, it's the quiet moments that convince and keep you pausing when you enjoy a view over the majestic game world. If you want to experience a movie-like production of one of the most popular comic characters, then "Marvel's Spider-Man" is the right catch for you.

It’s really hard to ignore the talent of Insomniac, that made a game complete under any aspect, even if sometime our Spider-Man gets stuck in the movements between high buildings, or if side missions are quite boring after a while. I suggest you this game, especially if you’re a Marvel fan, but also if this is going to be the first videogame you play about a super hero. For sure, one of the best PS4 exclusives released in 2018.

The in-game world also feels a lot like Infamous Second Son’s, especially during the third act. Why? Well, if I tell you now, you’d be spoiled, right? So best play the game on your own. But for those who have finished the game and also played Second Son, wouldn’t you agree that the Sable Soldiers in the third act being hostile to Spider-Man feels a lot like the Militia in Second Son attacking Delsin? I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just that the whole act is a copycat. Marvel’s Spider-Man should be renamed to Arkham: Second Spider. Joking aside, here’s a serious question to Insomniac Games – sequel when?

It’s the new benchmark of not just superhero games, but open world games in general. It captures the essence of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man so perfectly that you can’t help getting trapped by its addicting web.

Marvel's Spider-Man is an absolute blast to play from start to finish. This is clearly an incredibly expensive game to make, one that shows an amazing attention to detail and level of polish throughout. Visually stunning, mechanically fun and just downright fantastic in almost every aspect. Whilst not quite perfect, it's easily Insomniac's finest hour

No other game exists that offers the same experience that Insomniac's Spider-Man does. Even the Batman: Arkham series from which Spider-Man garnered many of its ideas from does not implement a system that constantly injects a sense of wonder like web swinging. Peter is learning to stand as an idol for New Yorkers, and Insomniac manages to put players right in the driver's seat. The LA-based studio knew it had great power when it was given the reigns to one of Marvel's biggest faces, and every ounce of effort poured into this project shows that. Spider-Man on PS4 is not just a love letter to everyone who has ever loved the wall-crawler as a superhero; the game is a love letter to everyone who has loved his games too.

If you’ve ever wanted to be a super hero, this is your chance. If you’re unfamiliar with Spider-Man this is a great entry point. Insomniac has another hit on their hands. And if you own a PS4 this is a must buy.

It is clear that the two core foci of Spider-Man are character building and player experience. Keeping these elements in mind at all times has made Insomniac’s imagining of this world a pleasure to play through and experience. Not-so-subtle nods to the MCU also suggest that further characters might appear in the future; on top of the impressive and exciting array of villains which this game boasts (no spoilers!). A classic Marvel post-credits scene reveals part of the potential future for this world, and it is fair to assume that, given the game’s success, this future may be closer than we expect. I for one thoroughly look forward to whatever the next installment might hold for fans. In itself, this game is a resounding success.

Everything is well thought out right from the web-slinging to the fighting and character building etc. Even though much looks familiar, it still appears to be more polished and refined.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a masterpiece of a game and Insomniac should feel damn proud for what they were able to achieve. Arguably one of the best, if not the best, superhero and comic book video games to exist, this is an absolute must-have for any PlayStation 4 owner.

Without being a perfect game we find the best Spiderman game to date and a very interesting starting point for a new arachnid saga. Made with love and respect to the character, Insomniac has managed to put together a great game of action and adventure to the height of the expected, with a spectacular audiovisual section and a great story, which leaves us wanting the next adventure of our friend and neighbor Spiderman

Spider-Man is exactly the game I wanted from Insomniac Games when I heard they were making this. It’s stunning, delivers on a spectacular story and gets that web-swinging through the city absolutely perfect. Fans of this legendary character will be happy as will newcomers. A few bugs need to be worked out but the main bug is an outstanding interpretation of the wall-crawler.

Insomniac Games are my favourite developers, Spider-Man is one of my favourite characters, and comparable games like InFamous and Arkham are among my favourites of all time. Even still, Marvel’s Spider-Man impressed me greatly. It’s not without its flaws, but swinging around, shooting webs and building up combos feels so good that they’re hard even to notice. Spider-Man’s story is exciting and hits hard at its biggest moments, while excellent writing, performances and presentation meet the high standards of the game’s magnificent mechanics. Marvel’s Spider-Man has great strengths on many fronts, and plenty of substance well worth swinging through.

forsooth the developers haven't left out or overlooked anything in this game. Marvel's Spider-Man not only has delivered everything we wanted from Spidey with competence, but it has done even more. Insomniac's newest title is the perfect action adventure experience and the best Spider-Man to date, it's a game people won't forget in years to come!

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a very strong contender for the 2018 Game Of The Year. The combat and slick movements are almost flawless as you stick your foes to the walls, beat the crap out of the bad guys, and swing effortlessly through the city. My only complaint about the game is that the boss battles are sometimes a little too simple for my liking, but don’t let that stop you from picking up one of the best superhero games ever made!

Spider-Man‘s web-swinging is without a doubt the most memorable part of what would otherwise be a typical open-world game. However, Spider-Man is no one-trick pony. The combat doesn’t have a high skill-ceiling and yet it can be as fun to play as it is friendly to look at. The story has moments that capture the magic of the comics and provide some superior boss fight encounters. All of the major characters are captivating and I can’t wait to spend more time with them in the sequel. Nearly every open-world cliche is present and accounted for, but the traversal system makes it stand apart in an otherwise crowded and somewhat stale genre. Ultimately, Spider-Man is one of those games that you play with a constant smile on your face, even when you’re doing the same thing for the hundredth time.
