Onrush Reviews
Onrush is a lot of things. It's brash, bold, experimental, but most importantly, really good fun to play. Its success will be determined by how well the team based concept catches on with gamers at large, but we've got high hopes for it.
Onrush is a fast arcade racing game, which will have enough to please fans if it continuously offers free content and a solid ranked mode. There are some bugs that taint the picture, but they are acceptable, and hopefully, future patches will correct them and evolve the game so that we can continue to ride for a long time.
This writer can see ONRUSH becoming an E Sports title
With ONRUSH, Codemasters has given arcade racing a shot in the arm. It has taken a tired genre and freshened it up by changing what the goal should be in a racing game. With the omission of standard races and the focus on teamwork this is a type of game that has never been seen before and should be a must but for anyone who gains even the slightest enjoyment from ultra speeds and vehicular mayhem.
"If you like going fast and blowing stuff up, then this game is for you without a shadow of a doubt!"
While I have honestly thought that Paul Rustchynsky, and the ex-Evolution developers have given their all when crafting MotorStorm: Apocalypse, then I am more than happy to say that ONRUSH is a much superior title, which dwarfs all the other arcade racers of this generation, and should be seen by other developers and publishers as a shining example of what racing games should be like.
Onrush is an excellent reimagining of the driving genre. It’s Evolution Studios greatest hits smashed together with the ultimate competitive traits of the very best modern multiplayer games. It stands alongside its peers as a reason to invest in premium online services, laughs in the face of those who would dare pigeonhole it and demands your attention.
If I could imagine the kind of game I’ve been waiting for within the genre, it’s OnRush. Quite a feat for a game that I wouldn’t even call a racer. Whilst some may question the full price point, I can confidently say OnRush is worth every penny, offering an experience that is an adrenaline-filled rush that’ll keep you coming back for more. With a ton of customisation on offer, gameplay mechanics that are not only novel but finely tuned and a highly satisfying learning curve, OnRush manages to nail everything it tries its hand at. If you’re at all interested in the genre, I highly recommend it. OnRush is something special
Onrush is a truly awesome experience, it's a completely fresh racing title that aims to provide something that's purely fun.
I have to admit to worrying about OnRush after playing the pre-release Beta as it did nothing to convince me this is a game I wanted. Thankfully the full game changed my perception for the better and made me realise what a fun and addictive game OnRush is. Sure there’s no finish line, but once it hooks its claws in you won’t want it to finish anyway.
Onrush makes a bid to revive the arcade racing genre with this wonderfully unique title. It's a little bit Motorstorm, a little bit Burnout, a little bit SSX. It's a beautiful game, with a selection of amazing tracks full of jumps, drops, and takedowns. Onrush is at times too chaotic and busy, but in the end it's damned exciting.
Onrush is one of the more intriguing (non)racers to come down the pike in quite some time; a slick, lightning-paced breath of fresh air for those who find Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport drier than sawdust.
