Beautiful style, polished interactions, but ultimately it just runs out of things to do.

This just wasn’t for me. Ultimately, there’s only so excited I can get by the prospect of being (let’s all say it in Chod’s awed whisper) an entrepreneur. Maybe I’m just becoming more prone to escapism as I age, but there’s just not much of a thrill for me in getting really, really efficient at flogging grape juice and tables to people.

Rise of Industry is a mixture of addictive fun and irritating mundanity.

Rise of Industry is fundamentally sound, but it goes from boom to bust too quickly.

Although its light tutorial and lack of feedback throw it off balance, Rise of Industry's in-depth production tools and supply chain mechanics - not to mention waffle options - will meet the demands of any production sim fan.

Rise of Industry has significant depth with heavy focus on logistics and supply management. Unfortunately, there's not much else for you to enjoy.

Rise of Industry is such a delight and a much deeper experience than I was expecting. Almost every aspect of your budding empire can be maintained and tweaked to your personal preference, although you’ll have to give the customers what they want. Competition is fierce, and not only is the AI cutthroat, but you’ll have to properly build a transportation network to ensure traffic doesn’t slow down your profit margin. On top of that, pollution becomes a concern, and when you throw the random events and auctions into the mix, there is so much that you have to track to keep your business flourishing. While I may have built my empire on wool, nothing came between me and my desire to become the ultimate supplier of potato chips and berry pies. The game launched with Steam Workshop support, ensuring the game has a bright future due to the endless possibilities.

Maybe it's not a real tycoon game, but Rise of Industry can be a really pleasant puzzle game.

With a solid gameplay, Rise of Industry had made me tons of fun. But in the meantime, it is really similar to Industry Giant II. Other flaws include lacking optional road design and usurious loan etc.

Rise of Industry goes out of its way to provide you with options. From its custom difficulties to the extensive research trees, there an enormous amount of replay value. With so many plates spinning simultaneously, it's inevitable that one or two come crashing down, but no one said building an empire would be easy.

Rise of Industry has an immense depth, elaborate mechanics and pretty graphics. But right now it looks like Dapper Penguin Studios made the game for themselves, not for the players: entry threshold is way too high, and there's many non-obvious elements in game mechanics. Right now Rise of Industry is not a bad game, but there's certainly a room for improvement.

Rise of Industry, much like real-life business ventures, takes serious work and effort. However, like said ventures, it offers a unique, rich and vastly rewarding experience to anyone who succeeds, as well as a minimum ten times return of your investment guaranteed.

Overall, I do enjoy Rise of Industry, even with its flaws. I'm sure that some of my gripes boil down to things I haven't yet figured out. We could chalk it up to its unique style of management game but I am not sure if that is really the issue here. It has made leaps and bounds since its early access days and I'm thankful for the progress, but for some reason I still feel like the game could use more improvement. The concept is great and the foundation is there for Rise of Industry to be an excellent management game, but it still needs some time. At least for me. But don't worry, I'm still going to be playing this game well after writing this review!

Rise of Industry is a complex production/logistics management sim with a wide variety of options and difficulty settings. It's got a rather steep learning curve, however, and needs a fair amount of micromanagement to keep things running smoothly. If you're looking for a management game with some depth and complexity, Rise of Industry is worth a look.

Hours of playtime but not boring at all. Rise of Industry has everything a production sim fan wants. There might be some issues, but I cant give you one.

That being said, it is not an easy game and, for those with a more casual interest in sims, it may be hard to get into. If you get past the difficulty and are able to learn all the subtle nuances of managing and optimizing a supply chain all the way from natural resources to parts to complete products, you will have a good time with this.
