Brief Battles Reviews
Brief Battles is a raucous little game that provides another option for Switch players looking for some decent four player, local multiplayer party times. It's easy to pick up and - owing to that clever mix of pant-powers, environmental obstacles and unique style of traversal - has a level of depth that introduces a pleasing amount of tactics for dedicated players. It's also priced really reasonably so is well worth taking a punt on if you're regularly inundated with friends wanting to get some couch co-op action on the go.
Brief Battles is a fun party game that is easy to pick up and play, while also being rewarding to master. The novel ability to be able to climb along most surfaces inspired some great level design, while still being approachable. A large variety of levels, and even plenty of solo/co-op modes, ensures Brief Battle's replayability. Juicy Cupcake has created a whimsical game everyone can get into, that is far deeper than its simple controls and silly sense of humor betray.
Brief Battles can be very fun if you have local players of comparable skill to play against regularly. It feels great to play, it's visually clean and distinctive, and it's got a high skill cap.
Brief Battles is a party game involving magical underwear.
Promised free updates may redeem this title down the line with better modes and more carefully crafted arenas, but for now, clunky menus and long load times make an obstacle out of even setting up Brief Battles, and excessive stage hazards, wonky controls, and trite objectives mean that the prize for navigating those menus isn’t worth it.
While it does have some issues with multiplayer customization, Brief Battles is a fun time for the solo player and party animal. It's a solid title that's as comfortable as a pair of fitting underwear.
Brief Battles might not take the party game crown, but it'll certainly take the party game undergarments
Brief Battles can make for a pretty fun time so long as you have four people to play it.
I wish Brief Battles was more fleshed out because it has a lot of potential and its core gameplay is surprisingly fun.
Have you ever wanted to be like your favorite superhero Captain Underpants? Okay…maybe he’s not your favorite superhero (he was definitely mine as a kid), but I’d say he’s definitely on par with all the Marvel and DC heroes out there. Anyway, if you’ve ever coveted underwear related superpowers or even if you’re just someone who gets a good laugh out of butt jokes, then, my friend, this may be the perfect game for you. Brief Battles is a multiplayer party game that has you assume the role of a pink sausage like thing(?) and don some magic underwear that will have you soaring, clawing, and shooting snot at your frenemies.
The game is a joy to play with friends, is colourful, with a great sense of humour and full of silliness but it needs a bit more for it to become a classic party game.
