The DLC is only 60 minutes long, and for the price you are paying it's just not worth it yet. When the DLC comes down to a much more reasonable price then sure get it for more DR3 fun. If you like collecting and doing other activities then you might be able to squeak 2 hours out of this content. The DLC was a let down because it had so much potential, it was lacking in psycho bosses which in my opinion is one of the best features of Dead Rising games. Lets hope the other 3 episodes are much better but at this current time I have very low expectations.

Dead Rising 3: Operation Broken Eagle is sort of just there. The story doesn't offer anything interesting to shed a different light on the main story. The gameplay remains unchanged, and the side missions — even ones that are meant to be revolting — don't feel challenging. It's also rather short, and the omission of co-op is baffling since the main game offers that option. However, the inclusion of new weapons and vehicles is nice, as is the ability to take experience from this DLC and apply it to the main game. As standalone DLC, it isn't worth the rather high cost of $9.99. If you haven't gotten the Season Pass yet for $29.99, it's best to hold off and see if the other DLC packs justify the cost, and you could consider this a bonus mission.

In the end, Dead Rising 3 Operation Broken Eagle will take most gamers around 3 hours to successfully complete and that includes collecting dog tags and hacking security cameras along the way. Gameplay is still just as sturdy as the core game but the story nicely links to the tale of Nick Ramos and without spoiling the story, it sets a few interesting elements in motion. However if you're looking for more multiplayer fun, you'll be sorely disappointed with Operation Broken Eagle because this is strictly a single-player affair.

As it stands, this first part passes the time, promises more but ultimately devolves into a third-person shooter peppered with fetch quests. Like the combination weapons it proudly (and rightly) brandishes, Operation Broken Eagle seems hastily constructed but not half as entertaining.

Incredibly short, forgettably bland, and wholly unnecessary, Operation Broken Eagle does almost nothing to meaningfully expand or enhance the core experience offered by Dead Rising 3.

Although it's more of the same, Dead Rising 3's Operation Broken Eagle expansion is a pretty fun way to spend a couple of hours.

Dead Rising 3's first DLC pack, Operation Broken Eagle, takes a great idea and does little with it that feels fresh or original.

While it was definitely interesting to see all the pieces fit together in regards to Dead Rising 3's story, Operation Broken Eagle just doesn't offer enough new content. The experience is over all too quick, and even though there are some extra missions, it all seems like filler rather than a necessary addition. The new weapons are appreciated, but we hope the next add-on has a bit more depth and purpose

All in all, is this DLC worth $10? That depends on how much you want to revisit Los Perditos. The additional content is more than worth it to those who loved it, but for those lukewarm to the game, I'd wait a bit and see whether the next episode is compelling and then consider looking at getting this episode in the $30 four-episode season pass instead. The action is the same, the perspective is interesting, but the new content is over so quickly that it really doesn't have the pull that it needs to make Operation: Broken Eagle a must-have.

Short and not particularly sweet, Operation Broken Eagle is an unimpressive first stab at giving Dead Rising 3 some worthwhile DLC.
