Those games are far from being gorgeous on a big screen and they make the original Mega Man look fair in comparison, but they are a neat take on the franchise’s core gameplay, with an emphasis on storytelling and light RPG mechanics. And let’s be honest, Zero is by far the single coolest son of a gun this franchise has ever created. A collection featuring six games starring him isn’t a bad deal at all.

Compilations are hard to judge. No matter what the collection, some games will invariably be more enjoyable over others. That said, regardless of individual quality, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is a well-made compilation that will definitely appeal to long-time series fans. With its tight gameplay, gorgeous graphics, terrific music, and a number of customization options, there's a lot for players to enjoy. At the end of the day, it's hard to say whether or not the collection will appeal to newcomers. The steep difficulty and overly complicated storylines are definitely a hurdle to overcome. It's hard to recommend this collection over any of the previous Mega Man Legacy Collections, but for players craving more blue bomber, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is worth overcoming those hurdles. Now, bring on Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Capcom!

Although it doesn't do a good job in localization, it's still a must-buy collection for Mega Man fans.

The heroes in these games are fun to play as because they are powerful, and being powerful is awe-inspiring. It is cathartic to cut robots in half with a laser sword, as chunky pixel art blurts out all over the floor. It is a satisfying challenge that is just not available anywhere else.

There’s fun to be had here, sure, but it’s found in pockets among huge swathes of frustration.

All in all, this collection coming out on the back of the original Mega Man and Mega Man X Series is a must have for fans or those that never actually got around to playing them.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy collection reminds us that the series did not shine at its brightest trying to move from action to story-based fiction. The six different games are still okay, but their original mecanics could have been tweaked a little to match the new video game standards.

These are six impressive titles (surely the best of the "Mega Man X" saga) at a very competitive price that, although in itself does not contribute much compared to its originals, more than the beginners mode that will allow us to play or replaying the title without adding much stress to the original experience ensures hours and hours of fun.
