Clash Force is a nice attempt at recreating the classic 2D side-scroller. The 8-bit graphics and game design feel right, but the final stages of the game take a dramatic difficulty spike. If those were tweaked, the game would be less frustrating and more enjoyable.

Minus co-op, with some late cheapness and lack of character diversity, knocks Clash Force down several pegs. It's certainly not a bad little release, but if you're looking for a higher quality title from Spicy Gyro Games with more meat on its bones, I highly recommend Polyroll instead.

Clash Force is one of those inexpensive games that you can enjoy for a few minutes thanks to its uncomplicated gameplay, but, unfortunately, is no longer relevant once it is finished.

This game is obviously a labour of love for Spicy Gyro Games. That said, compared to it’s peers in an era when we have retro inspired titles that are actually pushing the genre forward, it doesn’t do enough to look anything other than a pale imitation of the original’s its trying to emulate.

I originally played this game on PC because you could get a copy of the soundtrack. A music score that I have to say is brilliant in that funky retro way. Unfortunately not a lot has really been done to upgrade the game to Switch. I guess they added some art to the border which you can see in the screenshots. The controls have also been mapped better on Switch whereas the PC seemed to favour keyboard controls over a controller. Other than that its a pretty plain port. Clash Force is a fun simple coffee game that has the nostalgia of the ‘80s but won’t do anything to particularly surprise you. If you’re looking for a simple fun, run and gun platformer this will scratch that itch at a nice price to boot. But if you’re looking for something with more depth you can give this one a miss. Much like an episode of He – Man it won’t cause any harm if you miss one episode. There’s always next Saturday!

Past tenses and development in that fight. Advance, jump and shoot in 2D. Special events, complications, and those bosses end so remembered. He has a fun time with Clash Force, without needing old nostalgia, but the thing is not very far neither in visual inspiration nor in level design. Have a nice time, and with a low price, that always deserves.
