Starfield's Composer Is Convinced The Game Will "Eventually Become Something That Is Legendary"

Starfield has, in some ways, came and went. That's not quite fair; Bethesda Game Studios' massive 2023 RPG has been played by millions, and for all the doomscrolling, there are certainly longtime fans who are excited for the second expansion. But it's a "victim of your own success" deal—the studio behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout didn't deliver a newcomer with as much mental staying power, and it kind of shows.

Myriad are the causes, but one well-established video game composer thinks it's all a bit null and void. Inon Zur, who has graced us with terrific scores in games from Dragon Age: Origins to every Fallout game from the third forward, has keen things to say about visionary developer Todd Howard... and they include a rather optimistic view of Starfield. Which, yes, he also composed for.

Starfield will reportedly launch on PlayStation 5 on April 7. If that leak holds true, a far wider audience will finally have their chance to judge the game on their own merits, rather than via all the gloom (punctuated by periodic glee) that they'll have encountered online from Xbox and PC players worldwide.
