Earlier this year, GreedFall: The Dying World launched after some time in early access. This prequel expanded the world and setting we explored in the first game, telling a story from a native's perspective this time around.
Reviews were average, with an overall Metacritic score of 65. Not bad going, but unfortunately, publisher Nacon was already in financial trouble before launch, and Spiders would end up paying the price for this. Just a month after The Dying World's launch, Spiders was closed down, with Nacon taking over post-launch support for the game.
However, Nacon may be more limited in its ability to update The Dying World than it let on. A former developer who spoke with TheGamer says that Nacon cannot "fix issues or create new content", as it does not know how to use Spiders' internal tools. This is despite at least one player claiming to have been told by Nacon that future updates are on the way.
