4.2 / 10.0 - Akiba's Beat
May 16, 2017

Akiba’s Beat is definitely not for everyone and for most players it would be a boring affair. If anything, I recommend playing the Vita version instead; at the least it can be played in small bursts absentmindedly.

All in all, anyone wanting to know how not to make a platformer should play Rad Rodgers. It's a surprisingly good example of all the wrong ways to go about it. Anyone else should probably avoid this title.

Overall, we wanted to like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition but a lack of updated graphics, gameplay bugs, bad weather, and crashes detracted from the experience. Although you could restart a mission if you failed, you would have to choose between losing your progress or jumping back into the mission without a break. Sometimes, losing your weapons and armor feels better than having to redo the same missing again and again. There were numerous occasions where something would go slightly wrong and we’d have to start from scratch. If Rockstar decides to update the game and do it justice, then it will be worth picking up. Otherwise, we would highly recommend skipping the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. If you are interested in playing The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, we’d recommend waiting until it goes on sale. A 2GB update has been released to fix multiple bugs within the GTA Trilogy.

Without a central idea to fall back on, Past Cure is just an unorganized mess.

4.5 / 10.0 - Ghostbusters
Jul 18, 2016

Again, it’s not horrendous like the NES effort, and it’s a little more capable than Sanctum of Slime. But this Ghostbusters lacks any sort of charm or, worse yet, any reason to see it through to the end.

4.5 / 10.0 - Assetto Corsa

The higher class of racing fan may come to appreciate Assetto Corsa, but to the rest of the driving crowd, it'll simply feel like Ass.

If you are thinking about getting Arc of Alchemist, here is a bit of advice about playing it: Don’t.

4.8 / 10.0 - Earth Atlantis

Earth Atlantis has some potential to be a unique shooter, but unfortunately there just isn’t enough there to keep players engaged.

To me, this game was not good. It never should have been remade. The world is a different landscape for videogames than back in 2005. While Kay had the opportunity to step up and give us more, the developers chose to take the easy route, barely improve graphics, not change the voices, and leave the game as a mediocre blob in the middle of the floor.

Perhaps Oddworld Inhabitants and Nintendo were banking more on nostalgia rather than content for sales. Perhaps they only recently had the idea to rerelease this game. Either way, considering that they had twenty years to fix the issues, the result is disappointing.

With a story that often wanders off, design that never really comes into formation for single players, and a really weird lean into fashion, The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes is a new idea that just doesn't gain any traction.

5 / 10.0 - Party Hard
May 25, 2016

Party Hard does have its merits with unlockable characters and extra challenges, but that's if you can deal with its technical problems and heinous difficulty. If that sounds like a party to you, have at it.

5 / 10.0 - Armikrog

Cut-scenes, visuals and music aside, there's really not much game here, what with the somewhat average puzzle design and lacking rewards to keep on going. I'm happy that Tennapel and the team at Pencil Test were able to get back into the whole clay-mation business, but I can't help but think more could've been done with this.

Bedlam is a game that, in better hands, could've been an unbridled classic in today's shooting genre, but, alas, with lazy development and issues that consistently rise to the surface, it simply never gets to that point.

5.2 / 10.0 - Panzer Paladin

In its current state, Panzer Paladin is more of a chore to play than it is a joy, and as someone who enjoys challenging games, that’s really a shame.

Fans of puzzle games looking for a new challenge may find something to enjoy here. Casual puzzlers will probably be better served to pass on this one or wait for its inevitable inclusion in a future indie bundle.

5.2 / 10.0 - Strike Vector EX
Sep 28, 2016

I would love to see this universe expanded upon. Put this level of gameplay mastery into a world that's as interesting as say anything Gundam or Evangelion and Ragequit Corporation could have a manifesto on their hands. In its current state though, Strike Vector EX will sadly be forgotten, only to be remembered years from now on a "Top Ten Obscure Games" list.

5.4 / 10.0 - Layers of Fear 2

Anyone interested in classic film will probably find something to love and discuss but anyone hoping for something more dreadful than the first game or others like it will probably want to avoid it for now.

There isn’t enough new content in the game to make it unique or challenging enough for prolonged entertainment, yet it is still a one-of-a-kind experience that everyone using VR should have.

5.5 / 10.0 - Yo-Kai Watch 2
Sep 29, 2016

Maybe with Yo-Kai Watch 3 – which is a sure-fire bet at this point – Level-5 can take off the safety gloves and really give us an adventure that moves the series forward. But for now, it just proceeds with caution, and buyers may want to take the same route.
