This really is a true fighting game; don't let the Pokémon veneer tell you otherwise. This is a game which takes patience and concentration to learn to play effectively, and it successfully manages to blend together elements from other fighters such as Street Fighter, Marvel, and Tekken, and combine them with new ideas to create something truly unique.

If I could remove the poorly executed boss battles from the story mode, Devil's Third could have been a passable, albeit paltry, game. And while the multiplayer doesn't offer anything new and isn't overly populated, it can be fun for additional hours of gameplay. Your best bet is to wait for the game to fall in price before picking it up.

Stardew Valley definitely gives a lot for Harvest Moon fans but also for newcomers to the genre. Whether it's farming, mining, fishing, or even just talking to your neighbors, Pelican Town is a fantastic video game world to spend tons of hours crafting your own adventure.

Twilight Princess offers a slight deviation from the cliché save the princess story, and the incorporation of wolf Link contributes a new avenue to explore. As far as RPG length, Twilight Princess is about average, clocking in at approximately 40+ hours for full completion (and adding a little extra should you utilize the Midna and wolf Link amiibo).

When considering Monumental in retrospect, I am glad I had a chance to experience the nostalgic atmosphere and intense puzzles. As a fan of critical thinking and problem solving, especially in the way of gaming, few modern products offer the same depth to puzzles as Monumental. It's certainly unforgiving, but with enough thought and perhaps the use of the hint button, Monumental is a solid, inexpensive game worthy of your time, money, and brain overload.

Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO doesn't do anything that really blows me away. It's a decent racing game for sure, but at the same time, it's incredibly average. At the end of the day, this game didn't give me anything that racing games I've played before haven't. If you're really into rally racing, this game is more than likely worth a buy, but if you're a novice like I, I'd recommend trying it and seeing how you feel about it.

MLB The Show 16 is a fantastic sports game. The gameplay is as fun and immersive as ever. I shouted at the umpire over close calls and pumped my fist at each home run, just like I do when I'm at games or watch them on TV. The new features take away from the realism, but I love that they're optional.

This game went a lot quicker than I would have expected and did feel easier than the Souls and Bloodborne games. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. For people who are maybe less interested or more wary of the Souls series, this game might be an option to try out. For those who love those series already this game is a fun time spent that could be less grueling than running through the Souls game for another New Game+.

Samorost 3 shares some of the same ideas with its two previous games of the same name but is also completely its own game. The game is around 5 – 6 hours long, and some say that the asking price of £14.99 is a bit steep. But what you get in exchange is a unique and charming pocket sized adventure with exceptional visuals and music, a game from an award winning independent studio whose previous games have also won a variety of awards and a game that can be played by anyone of any age.

So, does Quantum Break live up to the hype? Yes and no. From the get go, the game has been marketed as a story heavy experience with cinematic gameplay and storytelling. In that regard, the game absolutely delivers, and if you went in expecting that, you're likely to enjoy it.

Tom Clancy's The Division isn't the game I was hoping it would be. Ubisoft set its sights high with this game, but unfortunately came up short. There's still plenty of fun to be had taking back New York, but I have a hard time seeing it holding players' attention when newer games start to come out. I was hoping The Division would be a game I would go back to again and again, but ultimately, it just made me miss playing Destiny.

The combat is fun, and there's even more weapons now that you can imbue with various elemental powers. The boss fights, though forgettable, are still tense and challenging. The problem is that Dark Souls II must be compared to the original Dark Souls, and it falls flat in every category. By attempting to make both newcomers and veterans of Dark Souls happy, Dark Souls II succeeds in neither, and is an unsatisfying experience because of it.

The world of Moon Hunters keeps you playing. The story seems short and straightforward at first, but actually conceals a variety of branching narratives. You can set out to find all these hidden secrets in multiple playthroughs or just grab a couple of friends and enjoy the combat and decision making as a team.

Ratchet & Clank offers fans and newbies alike a chance to re-explore the origins of two of gaming's most beloved characters. With a challenge mode filled with a significant amount of additional content, Ratchet & Clank is loaded with value, especially at its cheap price tag. Excellent voice acting, gameplay, boss fights, weaponry, and tongue-in-cheek dialogue leads Ratchet & Clank to find its way near the top of my favorite games of 2016 so far.

The story was laid out into episodes, with some sort of development or twist at the end to launch into the next. It is different with the style of the visuals and far less amount of decisions that would impact the story. The environments for the game flowed very well. Any time I entered an area, I felt I was able to get through it. Nothing felt so impossible that it could not be done. The keys to this game involved patience and being aware of Hope's placement in respect to the guards. How the game integrates the player into becoming a part of the story was different and interesting; rather than just having the players play as Hope, you are helping her and trying to protect her.

If you enjoyed it the first time but didn’t see yourself playing through it again for speed-runs or leisure, then you’ll want to opt out of this release. However, if you found replaying the main adventure a worthwhile endeavor and like plotting out different ways to complete the game or tackling its challenge mode, it earns the $15.00 it asks for admission. Now, if you’ve never played the game before but enjoy this style of gameplay, I can safely say, trying it out is hardly a complex decision.

Dark Souls III is absolutely worth the price tag. You can easily drop hundreds of hours into it and still be enjoying the experience. It's worth noting that the game is significantly more difficult than Dark Souls II and slightly more difficult than Dark Souls.

Resident Evil 6 for PS4 and Xbox One offer players the same overall experience from the original title. Most gamers familiar with the series already know whether they’ll be playing the game again. But for those on the fence or those who have never played it before, the cheap price tag, the addition of all DLC, and working/enjoyable multiplayer mode makes the game a potentially worthwhile buy.

If you haven't played any of the series before and are curious, I suggest waiting for a new title to release than jumping into an older one.

You can't help but think of what could've been. Throughout its entire course, Star Fox Zero feels the need to keep reminding you to recalibrate your motion controls or to not forget how to aim using the GamePad. Almost as if it needs to justify the existence of motion controls in this game, as if they absolutely needed to be there, when in reality, this probably would've been a more enjoyable experience without it, and in turn, a much better game.
