GameSpew's Reviews
Trine 3 is beautiful; full of colour, and accompanied by a great soundtrack
The horror theme works surprisingly well and the Bomberman-style gameplay is still fun to play today
Overall, Mega Man Legacy Collection is a release that long term fans of the little blue robot will absolutely adore despite the odd hiccup, thanks to the faithful representation of the games on offer and the myriad of extras included in the package.
. . .a complicated visual prompt will pop up on the interface and lets you feel much more involved when in reality you're just waiting for a progress bar to finish
Fate Tectonics is a very, very fun game if you're into world builders
Like a B-Movie, Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition hasn't got the production values of a AAA release, but what it does have is charm
…if you can't beat it like Michael Jackson, you'll be falling into its big open booby trap: repetitiveness
A return to the heyday of 2D pixel art has clearly been attempted, although rather than the revolutionary pixel artistry of games like Fez we are given an aesthetic which many would simply regard as dated
You'll run, jump, climb, push, pull and rinse and repeat; it feels at times like each mechanism has just been potato-printed onto a different environment
Offering a rich atmosphere and meaty philosophical concepts. . . Everybody's Gone to the Rapture paints a different kind of doomsday to all preceding incarnations
I don't mind a lack of music as all I can envision right now is something like the soundtrack used in Sim City 3000
With your shields down and only one bar of health remaining, Galak-Z really puts you on the edge of your seat as you frantically engage your thrusters to try and escape the next enemy attack
Once you have mastered the teleportation skill there isn't really anything new to pick up as you play, making it quickly become repetitive
Airscape does have a lot good going for it, in particular its zany physics.
Rocket League has that 'one more match' appeal that every multiplayer game dreams of
Whilst your ninja is just a little stick man, he's the best animated little stick man I've ever seen, oozing grace and fluidity
Levels have an engaging sense of momentum that is aided by a great soundtrack that is fun, entertaining and helps to keep the player absorbed in the world even after multiple deaths
Gameplay stays faithful to the series' roots, with you controlling Graham through wonderfully created environments as you find items and interact with an amusing consortium of characters on your quest to win the king's favour
Not having to worry about dying or engaging in combat means the game is a soothing experience, free from any sense of danger or urgency
In the end The Swindle is an ambitious game that unfortunately just falls in at average
