GameSpew's Reviews
In terms of graphics, Color Guardians doesn't offer anything particularly spectacular, but it's far from offensive – the environments are very vivid and pleasant and creature designs are memorable and unique
Schrödinger's Cat has plenty to offer. . . all served up in a great looking, funny package – with the art style and comedy reminiscent of something you might see on Cartoon Network
Graphically, Omega Quintet is a mixed bag. Character and enemy designs are pretty good. . . the field environments on the other hand are very basic, and at times a plain eyesore
Ori and the Blind Forest is a largely enjoyable game that gamers would be wise to try, even if just to experience its emotional story
Whilst far from perfect, Ether One is a deep and thought-provoking game, laden with rewarding and logical puzzles
Project Root has some good ideas, but the execution is just so far off the mark that it ends up being little more than an exercise in repetition and frustration
Shovel Knight manages to feel unique and fresh, which is a highly commendable feat indeed
I've never laughed so much at getting constantly brutalised by my competitors. The game is nothing short of whole-hearted fun
The lack of any true tutorial system has truly done the game a disservice
From the chilling ambience of the locales to the techno urgency of the boss battles; each track on the soundtrack is a treat for your ears and absorbs you into the game's twisted world
There's something about the dreamlike graphics and acoustic beats of the excellent music that keeps you entranced in Bastion
No other game on the Playstation 4 or Vita offers what this game has: epic battles against gargantuan beasts
The audio is impeccable – all the locations have a foreboding ambience that is heightened by excellent use of sound effects to put you on edge
The soundtrack to episode two of Life is Strange really shines. . . the whole game is excellent at creating mood and feeling, and the music is the cherry on top
Visually the game is clean, with nice textures and excellent presentation. The motorcycles truly are the stars of the show though; beautifully modelled, they are filled with intricate details and are a pleasure to look at
Jamestown+ functions perfectly well as a single player shooter, but the fun really gears up a notch in couch co-op.
Music is superb throughout Hotline Miami 2. The synthy, high tempo soundtrack is almost worth the price of admission alone and will keep you tapping your feet as you murder, die, restart and murder again
The bottom line is, Flame Over is fun to play, but you need to have a lot of patience – and a lot of skill
The visuals don't really take anything away from the game. Sure, we all love top-notch cutting edge graphics, but it hardly looks bad, and it's fun, and that's the main thing here
For a small-looking game with only two dimensions, it sure has a lot of depth
