The first expansion of New Horizons is therefore a convincing operation, recommended to all players who have loved Animal Crossing and are curious to experience the unmistakable peculiarities of the Nintendo title from a completely new point of view. The only regret is that Hapy Home Paradise will be a unique experiment, as it is the first and last paid DLC from New Horizons.

Bright Memory Infinite is not without flaws, but thanks to the use of a fast and intuitive combat system it keeps the player glued to the screen for the two hours it takes to reach the end credits.

When compared to the original, Blue Reflection: Second Light undoubtedly represents a big step forward for the guys at Gust, who once again have synthesized a compelling and frenetic playful formula. However, the progress made on the gameplay front and the unexpected introduction of a more traditional growth system are again counterbalanced by an uninspiring story, soporific and repetitive secondary activities, and a technical system dated even by the standards of the last generation of consoles.

Call of Duty Vanguard is a particular episode, a collage of experiences that do not all present the same inspiration and quality.

Unpacking is a jewel, one of those video games able to leave its mark thanks to their extreme simplicity, and the ability they have to communicate themselves and their stories through gameplay, without disturbing words.

Shin Megami Tensei V is both an evolution and a twist in the formula that has made the Atlus saga famous all over the world. From the point of view of the combat system, it introduces new mechanics such as Magatsuhi Abilities and Essences, which complete a harmonious mosaic and give some of the most memorable boss fights ever.

At a superficial glance Football Manager 2022 might seem like little more than just an update: the new chapter of Sports Interactive's football management simulation is much more. That one is delivered to the annals is probably not the best Football Manager in the thirty-year history of the series, but a good episode yes.

Just Dance 2022 is a dance without revolution, but what a dance, ladies and gentlemen. Strong of a sensational line-up that ranges from the old glories of the past to the new stars of the present (even virtual), the last chapter of the series focuses entirely on the quality of the selected pieces and on choreographies of indisputable specific weight.

Riders Republic is on balance a Steep on steroids. The latest effort of Ubisoft Annecy is a huge playground available to the player and in which you can have fun both in a carefree way and in a more serious way thanks to the total freedom of approach and the countless customizations of the control system.

Playing Echo Generation conveys a chiaroscuro of sensations. You are impressed by the beautiful graphics, a very inspired soundtrack and an effective and creative turn-based combat system. On the other hand, however, the numerous structural limitations of a product that with a few more tricks could have proved even more brilliant than it turns out to be in practice do not go unnoticed.

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is a great wasted opportunity: a triumph of playing cards accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack and a wonderful atmosphere, which however does not have time to breathe and arrives too quickly at the end credits, without expanding its story. An experiment that from the point of view of aesthetics is an absolute success but that becomes too repetitive in playful terms and not very interesting in a narrative key.

NHL 22 finally brings the series into the next-gen: the beginning is encouraging but we are still far from that magnificence that had characterized the EA series for long periods in its first thirty years of life.

Ultimately, the revival of Maiden of Black Water on modern hardware is a welcome operation but that is partly a wasted opportunity. The remaster will allow fans of the genre to rediscover an interesting experiment among survival horror, but a greater care would have made the last episode of Project Zero usable by a much wider audience.

If Super Mario Party chose to take the path of timid "next-gen" evolution, Mario Party Superstars takes the opposite, yet complementary, path of amarcord traditionalism. The result is a celebratory episode of fine workmanship, a reasoned selection of some of the most representative tables and minigames of what the franchise has been in its abundant twenty years of existence.

Happy Game rests its foundations on a solid, intriguing and stimulating puzzle design and then leaves room for the artists, free to disturb, reworking reassuring, sunny shapes, objects and creatures, in their deviated, deformed and repulsive version. A world of phobias that should reject but that instead attracts, inducing a magnetic morbidity, linked to the curiosity to see how far the developers have gone.

The greatest example that Age of Empires IV gives us is that it is possible to develop a historical game that approaches the subject giving it the right weight, without giving up working well in the multiplayer agon, where numbers, mathematics, are often the masters.

Now in its third act, The Dark Pictures Anthology shows the first signs of a perhaps inevitable fatigue. Wisely trying to involve and amaze the player with new stylistic gimmicks, Supermassive Games chooses to adopt a more impactful rhythm, and thus bastes another type of horror where violence takes over restlessness.
