8 / 10.0 - Impostor Factory
Oct 1, 2021

‎Impostor Factory teases and deceives, involves and alienates. It doesn't have the destabilizing power of To The Moon, nor the brain balance of Finding Paradise, but that's okay. He tells us about the innumerable emotional stratifications of reality, and he does so by choosing the path of the absurd. A quirk that soon changes its face and changes register several times, in frankly unexpected ways.‎

Despite the twenty years on monkey shoulders, the first Super Monkey Balls remain puzzle video games of superfine quality, however tough at the limits of sacrilegious swearing. Retrogaming aside, Banana Mania is undoubtedly the best way to experience the rotating gameplay recipe, now also open to welcome any newbies thanks to the introduction of some "assist controls" with optional activation.

The technical limits of Nintendo Switch are well known, yet the aura of Kakarot expands from second to second even on the hybrid machine of the House of Kyoko, which in spite of the predictions has in fact been able to guarantee us an always fluid experience and a remarkable glance. In this case the compromises are really minimal and negligible, if put in front of the possibility of enjoying Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot even in portability.

Diablo 2 makes its return to the market with a completely renewed graphic design, modeled to fully enhance the dark essence of one of the most iconic arpg ever. Every single piece of the visual sector has been shaped to fit perfectly with the "dark fantasy" canons of the original title, in full respect of the dogmas of a dark and enveloping artistic direction. The conservative philosophy behind the project is felt above all on the playful side, with a proposal that has remained substantially untouched compared to twenty years ago, to the delight of the most inflexible veterans.

7.8 / 10.0 - FIFA 22
Sep 27, 2021

The EA Sports revolution comes to life in FIFA 22 for next gen, but in our opinion we are facing a starting point and certainly not a goal for Canadian football. The novelties guaranteed by Hypermotion Technology, a real pillar of this year's offer, give the scenic impact and gameplay a realism that is unprecedented for the series.

Hot wheels Unleashed is, in some ways, a brilliant arcade driving video game. Simple, immediate, fun and adrenaline just enough, supported by an excellent technical sector and which offers one of the best circuit editors that have been seen in recent years.

6.5 / 10.0 - Sable
Sep 24, 2021

In his most inspired moments, Sable can remember Link's climbs, Sam Porter Bridges' deliveries and Wander's wandering on Agro. There are many suggestions that the Shedworks team has managed to incorporate into its ambitious project, which on more than one occasion will only leave the player breathless. Unfortunately, however, the obvious flaws of Sable eliminate the possibility of presenting all these ideas in a coherent and engaging adventure from beginning to end.

Death Stranding makes its debut on PlayStation 5 with a Director's Cut that, while offering players a good dose of unpublished content, does not consistently alter the quality balance of Hideo Kojima's latest work. The ludonarrative essence of the production has therefore remained the same as two years ago, with all its merits, its defects and its overflowing expressive power.

After completing Kena, we felt the desire not to leave these virtual lands, to continue in the heart of the forest to eliminate even the last bit of Corruption. Like the souls of the village, in short, we did not want to "go further". The magic of Bridge of Spirits is all here: in its sweet magnetism, in its balance between gameplay and narration, in the echo of those adventures of the past, where simplicity moved hand in hand with refinement. Splendid to look at and rewarding to play, Kena is a debut work as rarely seen in recent years: that the independent sector can be guided by its spirit.

8.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K22
Sep 20, 2021

Visual Concepts and 2K renew the appointment with the franchise dedicated to basketball stars and stripes. NBA 2K22 is a very ambitious title, perhaps too much. Leaving aside the technical sector and the shooting system, further refined, the "next gen" edition suffers from some failures (and choices that are too ambitious and rather risky) that certainly do not make the gaming experience unforgettable.

7.5 / 10.0 - Aragami 2
Sep 18, 2021

With Aragami 2, the development team changes art direction, fleshes out the gameplay with everything that has come out in recent years and adds content on content, preferring quantity to quality. With a little more care and a better finish, Aragami 2 could have been a jewel: as it is it remains an effective product, but still leaves a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth.

5.5 / 10.0 - Gamedec
Sep 17, 2021

Gamedec's writing is sterile and boring, and it's a shame, because even with a structure not as perfect as the one at his disposal he had some potential. As it is, the game struggles even to carve out its own space in a landscape where it is difficult to find such titles. The direction, however, is the right one: with some more care Anshar could in the future get to pack a good role-playing game sui generis. Gamedec, unfortunately, is not that good RPG.

7.7 / 10.0 - Tails of Iron
Sep 17, 2021

The small smudges reported up to this point do not compromise the experience as a whole. In the approximately 10 hours of play required for completion, to which is added another handful to complete all the secondary ones left pending, Tails of Iron constantly keeps the player's attention high, just like Redgi's shield. We are far from the complexity of a full-fledned souls-like, but the production of Odd Bug represents an engaging challenge, sometimes exciting, which will certainly keep even the most demanding players engaged.

Antonello "Kirito" Bello

Despite the frenetic combat system in an action key and the exquisite tactical component represented by the introduction of the nice Cioffi, already in 2018 Ni no Kuni 2: The Destiny of a Kingdom could not fully convince us, due to a cloying and excessively puerile story, which among other things delegated to the downloadable content the fundamental task of answering the most interesting questions left unanswered.

6 / 10.0 - Ultra Age
Sep 16, 2021

If we were to evaluate exclusively the ultra Age combat system we would not hesitate to say that it is a small pearl. Unfortunately, however, we find ourselves having to consider the entire package and it is therefore impossible not to take into account the serious problems of this production, ranging from level design to the graphic sector, passing through some very questionable gameplay choices.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lost Judgment
Sep 16, 2021

Ultimately, Lost Judgment is a great sequel, characterized by inspired writing and a great deal of irreverence. A second chapter more courageous, more refined and extremely more elegant, which offers the possibility of being played by all those who have never had direct contact with the first episode or with the Yakuza saga.

9 / 10.0 - Eastward
Sep 14, 2021

Eastward is not only the dazzling debut title of a very small development studio in Shanghai, just as it is not just a video game that closely resembles the best Zelda 2D in history. Don't call it Zelda-like: not because it's not a formally correct definition but because Pixpil's creature wants to be something more than the classic declaration of love to a title of the past. Eastward is one of the brightest examples of what are the true qualities of independent development: a real pearl that deserves to be discovered, perfectly able to carve out its space in the niche of instant cult videogames.

8.2 / 10.0 - Deathloop
Sep 13, 2021

Deathloop is an original, visionary and courageous work, a playful experiment that returns to reiterate the indisputable talent of the Arkane Studios team, which over the years has never stopped putting itself to the test with ever new challenges, often in line with the commercial logic of the triple A market. The result of the studio's latest creative bet is a brilliant game design exercise, at the base of a ludonarrative construct as multifaceted as it is compelling, blessed by an absolutely majestic artistic direction. Deathloop is a one-of-a-kind game, which unfortunately is torn from excellence by some rather important flaws.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lost in Random
Sep 10, 2021

From the artistic direction to the narration, passing through the combat system, Lost in Random stages a suggestive contrast between order and chaos. A modern dark fairy tale that owes much of its aesthetics to the imagery of Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, Lost in Random will undoubtedly conquer lovers of Tim Burton's works. Able to entertain, entertain, but also to disturb, the Indie of Zoink Games is absolutely recommended to all players looking for a good Action Adventure full of ideas and original solutions.

Life is Strange: True Colors is the most extensive and ambitious chapter of the Square-Enix series, but it does not reach the narrative depth of the previous chapters. While declining in a precious way the theme of empathy and forgiveness, some narrative choices and certain script ideas would perhaps have deserved a greater deepening.
