Welcome to the halls of Latin House – the dorm where you’ll be living for your first year of college in Roommates, a college dating sim from Winter Wolves. Whether you’re playing as shy nerdy girl Anne or as confident rockstar Max, it’s time to pull out all of the stops and make the most of your education far away from home. No matter which protagonist you choose to play as, the other will be one of your roommates, as will the chaotic artist Rakesh, the energetic campaigner Sally, the alluring and promiscuous Isabella, and the rule-abiding Dominic. You’ll have the opportunity to choose your classes, seek employment, participate in various special events with your roommates, and maybe even find love as the year progresses.
As the title suggests, The Game of Life 2 is the video game adaptation of the Hasbro board game – The Game of Life. Aside from a few changes (more on that below) the game is exactly the same as its real-world counterpart.
Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a restaurant simulation/arcade game where players are tasked to (you guessed it) cook and serve various meals to the plethora of NPCs that will come knocking. The series first saw the light of day back in 2012 with an initial release on PC via Steam, followed by mobile ports. Players had to wait five years for the first sequel, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2, which released in 2017 once again for PC (via Steam) and also marked the series’ debut on MAC devices.
Kaze and the Wild Masks is a platformer that pays homage to Donkey Kong Country. Kaze, an adventurous bunny, needs to journey through the Crystal Islands and save her friend Hogo from a curse. Fight mutant vegetables, navigate precarious platforming gauntlets, and discover collectables in Kaze and the Wild Masks.
Chess is an iconic board game that is steeped in history and has stood the test of time. I remember constantly playing a version that was pre-installed on our family computer when I was younger. It comes as no surprise that its strategic and methodical concept lends itself well to the puzzle genre. Many puzzle games over the years have regularly been inspired by chess and Chess Knights: Viking Lands is no different.
Square Enix are the best at what they do, aren’t they? Mastering a genre and providing hit after hit takes years of experience, and Square Enix have that in abundance. Be it Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or the Saga series, they continue to invent and reinvent whilst keeping the heart and soul of these games at the forefront of all they do. Bravely Default II, the sequel to the 3DS original from 2012, is the latest game by Square Enix to be given the same treatment.
I think we all struggle to talk about mental health, whether it be our own or other people’s. We tend to shy away from it, bottle it up and are then surprised when anybody speaks out about it. This is the beauty of Sea of Solitude, it puts you right in front of those issues to deal with them head-on.
I love wrestling. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I watch more than my fair share every week, with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all taken by wrestling shows, and that’s not counting the McMahon empire of WWE. So, when I saw a game advert pop up while watching an episode of NWA Powerrr on YouTube about 18 months ago, I just knew I had to play it.
Now and then I love a good stealth game and that is what I have today. Sniper Elite 4 combines stealth gameplay with being a sniper very well, and I believe that this is also a wonderful port. So how does this game manage that? Let’s find out.
In a world where live-service games are becoming all the rage, Outriders feels like a much-needed breath of fresh air. Even more interesting is the fact it arrives in the form of a looter-shooter, not too dissimilar from other games of its genre. But where the likes of Destiny and The Division pride themselves on being an ongoing gig, Outriders sets itself apart as a fairly linear third-person looter shooter with everything available at launch. So for the most part, what you see is what you get, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Outriders has set out to be something different in a genre that is becoming increasingly popular, but does it succeed? Absolutely.
Metamorphosis is a game based on the world created by Franz Kafka in his novella The Metamorphosis or Die Verwandlung in the original German. It sees you take on this quirky universe from an insect’s point of view. Are you curious to find out what it’s like to have a pint-sized view of the world? Then read on…
Override 2: Super Mech League is a pretty straightforward mech fighting game where players can play offline against A.I. bots or attempt their luck by going online, head-to-head (to-head-to-head). Right off the bat, it’s unfortunate because it’s a missed shot at creating an interesting story mode with a protagonist fighting their way up the ranks of the Mech Leagues. While it’s been done with other licenses, I don’t believe it would’ve hurt if Modus had created a story mode with their own touch. Anyway, with this out of the way, let’s get to the meat of it.
Sir Lovelot is an action platformer following a heroic knight. His quest is simple, to save as many princesses as possible, and swoon them with gifts he finds along the way. In the pursuit of true love, maneuver through over forty levels and gain collectibles along the way.
I don’t think there has ever been an age where there has been a larger global concern, understanding or recognition of mental health as there is right now. With everybody struggling from the long-running effects of Covid-19, the concept of mental health is no longer the large taboo it used to be.
Well, here we are people, the latest instalment of Capcom’s beast slaying RPG is here. Monster Hunter Rise is the latest in what used to be a niche series, that was until Monster Hunter World’s massive success. It is now seen as a popular household title and I could not be happier. I am no longer the black sheep that played Monster Hunter alone. Come with me people as I take you through the latest and maybe greatest Monster Hunter title to date.
As a massive fan of building-simulation games, I was very eager to play Evil Genius 2. The overall goal is World Domination; building up a lair to find new ways to take over the world. A rich network of game systems synchronise with one another to work towards this goal. But is the game terribly good or just plain terrible? Find out in this Rapid Review.
When the High Elf Deedlit finds herself in an unfamiliar land, she swiftly sets out in search of answers. Unfortunately for her, these can only be found by battling hordes of monsters, and some familiar opponents from her past…
What do you want out of zombie games? Do you prefer to battle hordes of relentless monsters in Left 4 Dead 2? How about desperately scrabbling for resources in ruined towns before rushing home by nightfall in 7 Days to Die?
Narita Boy is a linear action platformer. Narita Boy must recover the lost memories of the in-game “developer” to restore the Digital Kingdom to peace and harmony. Fight through hordes of enemies, meet interesting characters, and save the world in Narita Boy.
I love playing horror games. When I saw Mundaun spring up on my Twitter feed I was immediately captivated by its look. I knew nothing more about the game other than it had hand-drawn pencil graphics, but I needed to play it. When I saw that it was a horror game, I was just over the moon.
