Interestingly, I still consider A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead a title that deserves to be played at some point. While it's not a bad game, it doesn't quite reach the same level of depth as other works in the genre, such as Alien: Isolation and The Last of Us. The game keeps you on the edge of your seat, but it loses steam as you go along. It could certainly be better, but it's still worth the experience.

Wilmot Works It Out brings wit and finesse to the little world of its protagonist, previously confined to a warehouse brimming with all the cynicism of the modern world. In a way, it ends up being a treaty about looking for the balance between leisure and work, and it asks us, as square as we are, not to lose sight of what makes us happy. It's a good reminder - and an even better game.

Though it has its own charm, Shadows of the Damned has always been a flawed product, damaged by the neglect of all the people involved in the original project back in the day. Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is a way to apologize for some of the responsible people, who came to care about what they had in their hands, but not enough to rethink all its historical issues in order to improve the whole experience. It's a very interesting title, as a whole, but it'll continue to be limited by a clear room for improvement that it has always had and has never been really explored. On the good side, even if clearly old, we can say time has done it good, as it can properly stand out in a market that's populated by other game styles, be it on a gameplay sense or a thematic one, as it works even better as a horror and gore exponent.

The variety of weapons and abilities, combined with vibrant cel shading, create an immersive experience, and the universe comes to life with eccentric characters and interactive scenarios that enrich each attempt to escape. However, balance and progression issues affect the long-term fun: the grind required to progress and the slow pace of unlocks can be frustrating. At least the diversity of situations and content helps to mitigate these issues.

Potionomics: Masterwork Edition is a well-deserved update to a game that's much deeper than it seems, with incredible internal cohesion despite how much it tries to do. Sonic X Shadow Generations is more than just a collection of games. MechWarrior 5: Clans may disappoint the avid fans of Mercenaries due to the loss of the vast sandbox space and less gameplay freedom, which impacts the gameplay a little. However, the game compensates that with one of the strongest narratives ever within the BattleTech lore. The campaign is immersive, with excellent presentation, sharp writing and cutscenes that keep the player glued. For those who already know a little about the BattleTech universe, Clans is a great entry point. Even though the game doesn't make an effort to help the player fit in immediately, the story development is so captivating that, at the end of the campaign, you'll (likely) be familiar with the dialect and conflicts of the Clans, feeling like you're part of that universe.

Voidwrought is an immersive and well-produced metroidvania experience. The world is visually striking, with detailed areas and an intriguing dark atmosphere, despite its obtuse narrative. Exploration shines with non-linear progression, good diversity of situations and interesting navigation abilities. Combat, while satisfying and varied, is lacking in balance, becoming easier as you progress. Even with its lack of innovation in some aspects, Voidwrought delivers an engaging adventure that captivates with its mysterious universe.

Abstract, beautiful and challenging, Ynglet combines platforming, puzzles, physics, dynamic music and explosions of color to paint a vibrant experience. It is a work of art that knows how to take advantage of simple lines for aesthetics and deep gameplay. In the original release, it was a short game, but the two additional campaigns added make it a much longer and more intriguing journey.

My initial impression of Card-en-Ciel was a little negative: the campaign started without much of a context and the matches showed some visuals with poor polish. As I explored more of the deckbuilder, I could learn more about its universe, and also experiment more with the game mechanics. In that aspect, the game does a great job, having a good amount of cards, with many effects and various illustrations along with resources to overcome the challenges with your deck. The game's issue comes from the presentation, which could have more polish during the combat, and outside of it is very simplistic. Overall, we have a great recommendation for fans of card games and anime games; for other players, it may be worth to test the demo version out before thinking about getting it.

Unknown 9: Awakening is a game that brings an interesting narrative in a rich, mysterious and promising multimedia universe, but it suffers from technical issues that impact the overall experience. The story is engaging and manage to captivate a little, providing interesting and even fun moments throughout the adventure. However, the game is hampered by its inconsistent performance, outdated graphics and clumsy gameplay, characteristics that clash with expectations for a title released on the current generation of consoles. Not that I was asking for something flawless, but it was clear that the overall quality of the title was greatly damaged in the end, given what was presented throughout 2024 after years of development without any public update on the project.

Silent Hill 2 puts Bloober Team in the spotlight for treating one of the video game industry's greatest horror classics with respect and reverence. With combat that keeps the player engaged and in constant tension, an environment that makes many versions of the city envious, and sublime sound work, the project can easily rank among the greatest remakes ever made.
