8.5 / 10.0 - Shanghai Summer
Feb 26, 2024

Even with some issues and a simplicity that can be a double-edged sword, this adventure title is a beautiful invitation for a reflection. Maybe Shanghai Summer isn't the answer to our problems, but it can definitely be that push to finally face our past regrets and yearnings for the future.

6.5 / 10.0 - Geometry Survivor
Feb 26, 2024

Geometry Survivor offers a gaming experience centered on addictive gameplay, typical of bullet heaven-style survival roguelites. However, the game leaves something to be desired by prioritizing aesthetics and presentation to the detriment of content that could add more value to the product as a whole. Despite its flaws, it is still able to capture players' attention with its challenging gameplay and unique aesthetics.

Though it presents some excesses in fanservice and a really simple dungeon design, Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World is a very fun RPG, especially when it comes to combat and party customization. With a diversified cast of characters and content variety to explore in different strategies and parties, this title offers a pleasant play time.

8 / 10.0 - Lords of Exile
Feb 23, 2024

Lords of Exile offers an exciting journey through its world made up of a mix of gothic and medieval, combining nostalgic elements with agile and rewarding gameplay. With a well-crafted retro aesthetic and an exceptional soundtrack, the game captivates players looking for an authentic experience inspired by the era of 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. It's the kind of game that would be worth that weekend cartridge rental.

For better or worse, Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes] preserves the series identity with subtle upgrades that impact the gameplay positively. It's little for a wait of over a decade but there's no denying it's an excellent 2D fighter in the market.

9.5 / 10.0 - Promenade
Feb 21, 2024

Promenade was an enjoyable ride from start to finish, keeping me hooked until I finally managed to find all of the many cogs. The caveats are minimal, overshadowed by the excellent execution that provides so much content for the fun and engagement of different ages and abilities.

8 / 10.0 - Pacific Drive
Feb 20, 2024

With a charismatic voice cast, vast upgrade system and a fascinating mysterious world, Pacific Drive is an experience that is unique in every aspect. I personally have never played anything like it. Similar yes, but like this experience, never. The idea of creating a game based on roadtrip films with a mystery and horror aspect, combining elements of survival and crafting was an assertive choice. The debut of Ironwood Studios is a great success and made me extremely curious about the developer's future works.

KONOSUBA - God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Love For These Clothes Of Desire! is a fun combo of routine simulator and visual novel. Making the most out of the characters' charisma and the series' type of humor, the title manages to be an excellent pick in the genre.

Balatro emerges as a captivating example in the roguelike genre, skillfully blending poker elements with deck-building structure. The simplicity of its rules, combined with the strategic depth offered by the varied modifiers, creates an immersive experience. For strategy game aficionados, roguelike fans, or even for those who have never ventured into poker, the title offers a rich, challenging and, above all, fun experience, promising hours of challenge and satisfaction.

Despite some failures, Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II stands out as a captivating horror work, offering fascinating characters (both alive and dead) in a well crafted plot. Though the gameplay can be exhaustive in some of its aspects, the sinister atmosphere and intriguing plot balances out its shortcomings.

Even with some issues, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft still is a good collection that makes Lara Croft's origins more accessible in the current platforms, especially for those who already experienced these adventures before, and adds beautiful visuals. However, new players will still have to handle the difficulties of Lara's gameplay and the obtuse level design. For those people, Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Multi) remains a better entrypoint.

Feb 13, 2024

With drawn-out battles, scary internal menu designs, and a terrible online system, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is probably one of the worst experiences I've had this year, and in fighting games in my entire life. A shame indeed, as I'm a big fan of the source material and would love to see it receive the quality and success that other Bandai Namco releases have had in recent times. Unfortunately, it wasn't this time.

After a long wait, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League finally came out, bringing an excellent story, competent audiovisual production, and solid gameplay. The issue is that the short campaign is followed by repetitive challenges and the game's mechanics are relatively simple. The experience is worth it for fans of the looter shooter genre and the DC universe but only with updates and relevant new additions will it be a good recommendation for the general public.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ultros
Feb 12, 2024

Ultros is an adventure of contrasts, in which its innovations shine against the backdrop of its executional flaws. The game stands out for its extravagant atmosphere, creating a unique experience that, despite its problems, is still worth exploring for fans of the genre looking for something out of the ordinary. Full appreciation of the game requires a willingness to experiment, explore, and sometimes tolerate its less refined elements.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the extension of its own protagonist. It's a unique game that manages to swim against all the odds of a rigged industry and still deliver a brilliant experience. It's one of those occasions when it's necessary to drop that tired cliché and say that it's a product that reminds us why we love video games.

10 / 10.0 - Tekken 8
Feb 8, 2024

The Tekken franchise has always had a strong presence among other fighting games, whether due to its cohesive story or its characteristic gameplay. What Tekken 8 did was maximize the experience provided to players to a level of excellence that steals the spotlight from Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1 with perfect execution and exquisite delivery.

The combination of intriguing puzzles, captivating visual presentations and constant challenge keeps players immersed in a mysterious plot full of surprises.
