INVEN's Reviews
Puzzle element infused in action rogue-like genre stimulates the interest in many ways. The level design built on the core system such as manipulating Tetris-like scaffolds was also okay. However, the game gets dull pretty quick except for the puzzles because the only differentiator is just stepping stones.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is the best game to start a new Eiyden Chronicle series. The game contains battle through link action, smooth sound, harmonious 2D+3D graphic design and well-balanced story. You can hardly tell that all of these are perfect, but the game has enough quality to enjoy without any concerns.

Rogue Legacy2 shows a perfect combination of Rogue-lite and Metrovania. the game is enjoyable for hundreds of hours thanks to both genres compensate each other's downside. While, the improved exploring and battle systems added the completeness to the previous title, similar gameplay styles and monster designs can make you feel somewhat dull.

Trek to Yomi's excellent visual quality and sound production are enough for you to recall classic black-and-white film. But maybe they put too much effort into the visual side. Gameplay itself feels so plain and simple. The fast-paced combats are interesting in itself but barely changes. And the collectables are not attractive enough.

You can make two different evaluations on "Kombinera" depends on how you conceive its genre as a 'puzzle' or a 'platformer'. While the elaborately designed 300+ puzzles are enough for a challenge, the fact that these puzzles require detailed controls rather than using brain can be polarizing among players. The game's simply but immersive storytelling, flawless UI design is also impressive.

The revival of the legendary 'Wii Sports'. It seems they successfully reflect the company's color. The addition of multiplayer and Pro Rank system allows players to indulge into the game alone, while the competitive system is also simple and easy to challenge. However, it is noticeable that the single play contents are less than the previous title and some games are not easy to fall into.

Warpips is a kind of strategy game that everyone can enjoy quick and easy. The game provides short and intense gameplay, and the bloody battle between soldiers in voxel graphic is also fun to watch. However, It seems necessary to diversify tactics and prepare for multiplayer for long-term gameplay due to the shallow combat system.

'Unsouled' is a unique combination of top-down perspective and the key elements of the fighting games. Although the entire stage is a bit short, the game provides a variety of additional contents to immerse yourself in its deep-structured combat system. While the game surely needs an improvement on the tutorials for beginners and lack of visibility, its intense combat mechanic is worth an experience.

"Pocky & Rocky Reshrined" is an indication of the series' successful revival. Delicately drawn characters and stages are more than enough to introduce a charming world of pixel art for those who are familiar with latest video games, As well as giving nostalgic memories for the fans of original game. However, the fact that no big changes were made from 28 years old original work and short playtime are a bit shameful.

'Lumote' is a well made, Multi-dimensional puzzle game with a great combination of lighting and classical platformer controls. While the Lumotes with subtle cuteness were surely amazing, the game somewhat failed to leave a strong impression due to lack of intense elements.

An attractive title with the combination of surreal 3D scene and beautiful 2D artwork. The story created by Shelly Chen is somewhat unclear. And this vague story makes it easier for players to resonate their own experience. However, the game can leave much to be desired for those who would like to enjoy a completed story.

It is hard to believe that Suhoshin, a game with extreme details around Korean culture and history have been made by French developers. The game's attempt to share historical information alongside the main story feels natural, far from forcefully explaining everything. Though the core game play itself is a typical visual novel, the game is well deserved for its polished work and rare attempts.

The House of the Dead remake is characterized by a faithful embodiment of the elements of the original. However, it does not reproduce the sophisticated manipulation and immersion, which are characteristics of the gun shooting genre, so it stays in the remake as a rip-off of the original, not a remake beyond the original.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a humorous, well-directed game that made the massive Star Wars series light and enjoyable. It's a pretty good title to be new to Star Wars.

'Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream' is the latest work of Atelier series which is famous for unique alchemy system in gameplay. It took and improved old systems and styles for reviving the series, but inconvenient details of classic games came together. It's like a fine dining set for puzzle fans. But it's unsatisfying that its limited reward systems does not motivate gamers to play repeatedly.

It is easy to misunderstand TUNIC as an adventure reminiscent of 'Zelda' for its cute, fairytale-like graphics and sound, But the reality is different. While the fox hero grows up overcoming boss battles, the unexpected difficulty stimulates you to challenge more. The catalog styled story and twist also show the game's charms.

3D has created a new area of exploration in the Kirby series. However, it maintains the platform action and cute world, which are the advantages of the Kirby series. It also has a great game design that is easy at first but gradually becomes difficult.

"Tiny Tina's Wonderland" is a game that you can enjoy even if you have never played the "Borderland" series. Various guns, which are characteristics of the existing series, remain the same, and the magic spells added this time, melee weapons, and multi-classes have been combined to make the game much interesting. The humorous story and attractive characters are still there, and the charm has been upgraded with the voiceover dubbing. First of all, it's so fun that I don't know if time is going.
