INVEN's Reviews
'The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki' is an important turning point of Trails series which will lead Falcom's future. It is the great beginning of the latter part of the series and totally completed works as compared 'Trail in the Sky', the very first work of the series. The structure is similar to previous works, but the graphics and game systems are dramatically changed to satisfy both fans and beginners.

Ys Ⅸ: Monstrum NOX is the result of a bravely new attempt by the production team inspired by Ys Ⅷ: Lacrimosa of DANA. Although some fans may feel it ambiguous, they can meet Falcom's small but elaborate semi-open world and enjoy excellent actions through this work.

Praey for the Gods looks similar to a typical AAA-class game for an indie game, but it has a disappointing completeness, and overall, it feels like it has not been able to follow a famous masterpiece.

It's a 'remake' of the 4th generation Pokémon games - often called the masterpiece of the series. But I think this is more of a 'remaster'. Although graphics and convenience functions were improved, many of problems from the original were intactly ported rather than fixed. Besides, it is a full-price title. I doubt that the developers really loves Pokémon. It was an important moment to build up Pokémon franchise's era to new heights again, but this work was released as a spin-off which even fans of the franchise are hard to like. It's a shame.

It's not bad. Open world and improved action are both double-edged swords of this game. However, each case is still interesting and the process of investigating has been much more excellently upgraded than ever. And being able to meet young Sherlock Holmes is a great power that can overcome all the shortcomings of the game.

The story is quite compressed, and the performance does not fully utilize Nintendo's switch performance. However, the attractive and difficult battle perfectly reflects the sadistic nature of "Shin Megami Tensei."
