Zen Pinball 2: Portal Pinball is a marvellous experience which makes you want to pull out the Portal games and play them all over again. Zen Pinball fans can absolutely download Portal Pinball with confidence but even those looking to travel down the Portal memory lane will get a kick out of this table. As Wheatley notes, "That's tremendous!" And so is this pinball game.
At its core "Supremacy" is more of the same but its attention to detail has not gone unnoticed, the new maps succeed and the addition of Bruce Campbell is a treat.
If there's no groundwork and fundamentals in place for players to interact with one another, especially for a game with zero objectives, it's destined to fail. I can understand what Wander was trying to do, but even so, it's both nowhere near complete and polished, and sadly, completely void of fun in any way.
Hatred is a subpar twin stick shooter whose only claim to fame is its Adults Only rating from the ESRB. The novelty of the rating and some good destruction tech does not make up for the coated-in-molasses control, idiotic AI, and feeling of unease the game puts forth. Worse yet, the game is boring, repetitive, and simply not fun. Save your money for something with more substance.
Will it replace DOTA or LoL? Not likely, as the depth of combat is not there. What it is however is a fantastic alternative for looking to get away from the toxicity of other MOBAs. Heroes of the Storm is a welcome experience to the genre and will hopefully inspire more innovation to MOBAs in the future.
Massive Chalice is an interesting twist on the genre, though it does sort of feel like more could have been done to differentiate it. The game's style is good, and the basic structure is engaging and challenging. Combat could be a little more tactical, but overall it's a solid game that provides a great outlet for any turn-based craving you might have.
Let me just say, after playing episode 3 you'll wish episode 4 was already available.
Nero calls itself an interactive story, and does fine by itself with the story aspect, however interaction is sorely lacking. Nero is an ambitious project and an obvious labour of love, and may be a worthwhile purchase for any gamer with a taste for story and mature subject matter, but be prepared for painfully dull puzzles and a few other blunders.
I found that I enjoyed Lifeless Planet quite a bit after I spent a time with it and got past the frustrating aspects of the game. This title is 100% made for the 'niche-gamer' and won't appeal to a broader audience. This is evident with the level design frustrations early on, which will no doubt scare away some gamers from even playing past a certain point. Get past some of the rough patches though and there is some good to be found in this title, especially when it comes to the story driven narrative that takes you through this grand adventure.
0RBITALIS is a highly playable and addictive game that I predict will do very well. It would likely celebrate more success on phone or tablet platforms for its simplicity and the fact that you can pick it up and continue where you left off easily. I wasn't expecting to like the game as much as I do yet 0RBITALIS is a title that will remain in my installed Steam collection.
[I]t's more like Cube Zero than Cube: it's fun if you like that sort of thing, but if this was all you saw you wouldn't be that interested.
Splatoon is a game that isn't afraid to get messy, and in this case, messy is absolutely a good thing.
Make no doubt about it, at the end of the day House of Wolves DLC is an improvement over The Dark Below DLC, but it could have been so much more.
It doesn't attempt to do anything original or push the boundaries of RPGs. If this were the 90's, I might be impressed. Nothing sets this game apart; it strives to be a solid game, nothing more. Unfortunately, 'solid' is just too flimsy to warrant a second playthrough.
The best way to describe the look of the game is if the classic arcade game Elevator Action and new indie title BroForce got together and had a child.
For now, Toren is suited for someone looking for a story-centric game for the weekend, a younger audience looking for an easier game, or anyone looking at getting into game design. This game is a great example of what you can hope to accomplish early on, and should act as a great portfolio piece for anyone involved. It's worth the $11 though just barely, and will delight anyone looking for a great art style to enjoy as they sort of mindlessly solve simple problems.
There is no question The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delivers a superb 'Triple A' RPG experience. Featuring some of the best story telling we have seen so far this year and an unforgettable, dynamic and vast open world, Witcher 3 stands as a must own for not only fans of the franchise but those looking for rich experience they can soak 100+ hours into.
Although Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster on the PS3 already did a superb job in bringing back two classic games and adding extra content, the new PS4 counterpart has managed to outdo it. That being said, while the definitive version resides on the PS4, if you already own the PS Vita or PS3 version it is a pricey upgrade for only a few new features and a visual upgrade
[G]ive it a download if you like exploration and puzzles but maybe wait until there's an update before you give it a shot.
With very few drawbacks and some very interesting game modes still coming, this game is going to be a life suck. Whether it be campaign, multiplayer or simply an 'insane' size map and all the races including the ones you create, you will really enjoy throwing whole days away on galactic domination.
