60 / 100 - Bus Simulator 18
Jul 15, 2018

In the end, despite all of the extra customization, RPG elements and other details, Bus Simulator 18 still gets to be boring after a few hours.

68 / 100 - MXGP Pro
Jul 13, 2018

Having played Supercross, there was a major sense of deja vu with this game. To be honest, once I was racing it was impossible to tell which game I was playing. No doubt, zealots of these games would know instantly by location, driver, and bikes. For me, it was more of the same and so my initial excitement level was much lower when I started racing with MXGP Pro.

Overall, the entire story felt a bit hollow. I had no reason to connect to anything in the game. Nothing in the story was explored in depth. The hotel as a set-piece was wasted. The whole narrative was shallow. The game shows potential, but it is so incohesive and unimpressive that it flounders as a whole.

72 / 100 - 20XX
Jul 9, 2018

There's a lot of fun be had here, a great challenge for those looking for a new retro-style platformer like this to take on, but 20XX never truly finds that "retro" charm. Instead, it's a new idea pretending to be a retro experience, and the more astute players out there will be able to sniff it right out.

Shining Resonance Refrain plays like a pretty standard yet extremely solid JRPG. Despite the slow beginning, the story is interesting and extremely well thought out. The characters are likable and the graphics are beautiful. And it has a good combat system that's easy to pick up and yet varied enough to keep the player's attention along with a whole new added story with Refrain mode.

Overall, Dream Alone brims with potential but falls slightly short in multiple areas.

The technical shortcomings do have me hesitant to recommend this over the other versions if you have the means to play them, but if the Switch is the only console you have, you'll still get your money's worth, without a doubt.

88 / 100 - INSIDE

INSIDE is still a deeply thought-provoking experience with a mystery that begs to be explored and is faithfully ported to the Switch.

82 / 100 - Prey: Mooncrash

While Prey was a solid title, Mooncrash is a quality portion of the game that is comparable to the main game.

One can hope that future expansions are so creative, and continue to allow players to create their own world to fill with their own little slices of suburbia.

65 / 100 - The Crew 2

Maybe sometime next year The Crew 2 will start to feel like the sequel we all deserve, but as it stands right now, it certainly doesn't.

If you want to make a visual novel with a heavy emphasis on music that's also a rhythm game, you had better be ready to make something really truly special to make it work—Lost in Harmony: The Musical Odyssey is not.
