The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon Reviews
While it is a little underwhelming, Peril on Gorgon offers a decent enough experience for fans of The Outer World to enjoy
Personally, The Outer Worlds is not really my cup of tea. However, Peril On Gorgon proves that Obsidian is still capable of putting out capable expansions. While it doesn’t stack up to expansions by larger studios, it’s a great effort by Obsidian. If you’re a fan of the game, this will be essential to continue your experience.
Peril on Gorgon is more of the same, more The Outer Worlds, for better and for worse.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is a decent piece of DLC with some very significant flaws. Because the player needs to progress beyond a certain point, but the save file can't be in the final stretch of the game, Peril is in a very awkward position. It is most suited for players who love the game and are looking for more. But chances are, they have to restart from scratch and replay a significant portion of the base game to even start. At that point, it might not be worth it.

With the outer worlds being one of the best games of last year, Peril on Gorgon seems like a missed opportunity while it adds a new location, it doesn’t really add to the overall experience.

A self-contained plot that's more of the same.
Is this a bad DLC? Fortunately, no. You'll definitely enjoy it, but a feeling of disappointment will constantly keep you company during this adventure, as it could be something a lot better than simply "more of a good thing" kind of deal. In other words, Peril on Gorgon is just one more quest line to complete - one that's fun, but not any different than what came before it.
The Outer Worlds was a fun series for 2019 but now feels incredibly dated just one year later. If you’re a fan of Obsidian Role-playing games like Fallout: New Vegas, there’s still a lot to enjoy between the harrowing storylines and corporate parody. Just don’t expect anything groundbreaking, as it’s mostly more of the same.
Peril on Gorgon feels like another Outer Worlds mission and while that may have been okay 6 months ago, it's too little, too late now.
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting more of The Outer Worlds and the Switch is your only choice, then you’ll find something here, but otherwise I’d suggest checking this out on other platforms.
Peril on Gorgon tells a compelling and unsettling story about work dehumanization mixed with an intriguing family mistery. Despite the lack of new gameplay contents, it is a recommended DLC.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon isn’t necessarily a required play. Anyone itching for more of what Obsidian offered in The Outer Worlds will likely be pleased find enjoyment. Peril on Gorgon doesn’t overstay its welcome but it also fails to deliver any substantial updates to gameplay. To frame Peril on Gorgon as “more of the same” isn’t inherently negative. The Outer Worlds is merely expanded by the DLC’s inclusion. It sits comfortably well with the base game.
Like in the main game, Obsidian leaves you every possible freedom to solve all quests as you see fit. A little more variety would have been good for the DLC, though.

If you’re looking for more of the same magic that catapulted The Outer Worlds into 2019 GOTY conversations, Peril of Gorgon likely won’t disappoint.
Obsidian have built a mostly entertaining piece of DLC that – while not essential – is one Outer Worlds fans will enjoy from start to finish.
For as by the numbers it might be in terms of quest design, Peril on Gorgon is a worthwhile trek if not only for the quality of the writing is as strong as it’s ever been, not to mention the raised level cap that includes new skills past 100 points, as well as the shiny gear and the number of new perks and flaws that pop up as you reach level 33.
