Space Invaders Forever Reviews
From people who have never touched Space Invaders to the high score holders of yore, I think there’s a whole lot of good in this package, and it’s worth checking out!
With the insane amount of replay value from Extreme, and the lengthy content from Arkanoid Vs, you can’t go wrong with Forever, and even as the PS4’s only SKU of the collection, I feel it’s still worth a pickup, though if you’re wanting the retro games, regardless of the lack of local score saving for those, you can still buy Invincible Collection on the Switch via Strictly Limited.
Space Invaders Forever is a cool collection of games based on the classic alien blasting classic. They all serve a slightly different function from single player, to multiplayer to an almost puzzle-y mashup with Arkanoid. None of these titles has a ton of depth to them, but at the same time they all manage to scratch that addictive arcade shooter itch that Space Invaders is so well known for.
Space Invaders Forever is a pretty decent compilation. Each of the games included in this is different enough that you should stay entertained for a while. However, for the $30 price tag, Taito could have included more classic titles. Fans of the series should still enjoy their time here.
Space Invaders Forever has some entertaining games but it is disappointing the developers did not put a little more work into this collection. Each game feels like a straight port from its original system instead of being adapted and improved for the Switch. If you’re a Space Invaders fan it may be worth a look but you may want to look into the Space Invaders Invincible collection. If you’re just testing the Space Invaders waters this is a pretty good place to start. For a fan though, I was very sad coming away from this.
Space Invaders Forever is a questionable collection and difficult to recommend, so it would be much more attractive to see all of its content in a more robust and complete compilation. Although the gameplay, soundtrack and visuals of the included titles are, most of the time, satisfactory, there is a deficiency of novelties and additions of new game modes that bring the collection closer to a port than to a reimagination. Overall, it is fun, playable and should appeal to all fans of the Space Invaders series, even if it is somewhat superficial.

If you’re looking for a centralized platform to play these games, the bulk of the titles offered here are fun enough to keep you engaged for quick bouts of alien-blasting action. Would I go out and grab this at full price? No, probably not. But having two solid offerings out of three at a sale price? It’s work a look. Just don’t get your hopes up for multiplayer.
Space Invaders Forever is a compilation of three games: Space Invaders Extreme is an addictive game from 10 years ago and a good successor to the saga. Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is a converted mobile game that can only be played in handheld mode. Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE is the classic fun for four players but it loses fun if you play alone. Collection somewhat scarce.

Space Invaders Forever is a nice celebration of the franchise. Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders are both quite fun and could make for great occupation on a long trip or while trying to kill time. They’re quite replayable and offer challenges in a tight package. Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE is hardly even worth a glance though, and makes the $30.00 price tag a bit hard to justify.
A trio of twists on a classic, Space Invaders Forever brings together 3 inventive titles that can fill an evening with friends or a weekend score chasing alone. There’s caveats with all 3 games that long time fans will need to consider before purchasing but if you’re simply looking for a Space Invaders fix with a difference, this is the game for you.
If you’re looking for fun, retro-inspired titles in one package, Space Invaders Forever can fulfill your needs. But bear in mind this isn’t a retro collection. You’re getting a DS game, a mobile spinoff and whatever the hell Gigamax 4 SE is. You’re not getting the history of Space Invaders, any meaningful additional content, or even a reskinned version of the original.
Space Invaders Forever is an excellent opportunity to replay a classic or simply discover it, after all, we are talking about a 1978 video game. The new version doen't eliminate the essence of the video game, rather the expand and either alone or with company, this pack gives us hours and hours of frenetic entertainment.
