Metroid Dread Reviews
Overall though, Metroid Dread is excellent. MercurySteam has more than proven themselves to be a worthy steward of the 2D Metroid games. They understand the genre and what fans are looking for from Nintendo’s bounty hunter extraordinaire. Metroid Dread is simply a must-play title for newcomers and fans alike.
This final 13-16 hour instalment is an exquisite showcase of 2D Metroid in its prime. Newcomers and die-hard fans of the series can revel in a Nintendo Switch game that not only provides one of the most deadly and thrilling experiences on Nintendo’s latest handheld to date, but one that’s such a joy to play thanks to control refinements and HD graphics. Metroid Dread is an explosive and emotional end to a beloved story that cannot be missed, and we’re already itching to see where the next mission takes us. Just as long as it doesn’t include the dreaded E.M.M.I.
Metroid Dread is a fantastic example of an unbelievably well-paced game. It relies solely on the gameplay and terrific level design to guide you through huge maps and tough bosses in one of the best Metroid games to date.

Mercurysteam have taken what they learnt from Samus Returns and really upped the ante with the gameplay, Samus controls like butter, running jumping and sliding all other the place feels like a dream. A few years ago we called Samus Returns on 3DS the best 2D Metroid ever made and as good as that game is, Dread improves upon it in almost every sense of the word, hopefully, this is the start of a whole new era for Samus and the Metroid franchise even after a lengthy development.
Metroid Dread manages to do incredibly well by marrying moments of action with extreme tension and doing so from the flow of organic gameplay instead of using tools such as cutscenes and dialogue. In Metroid Dread, language is a kinetic thing. Samus Aran’s body is a moving sentence, and her weapons and abilities are punctuation. How you interact with the world you move through is how you tell your story. This is how the very best games in the series have always been and are true of all the best examples of the Metroidvania genre.
While it falls just short of being a masterpiece, Dread proves itself worthy of Metroid’s legacy with high fluidity, some fantastic setpieces, and a few particularly killer robots.
Metroid Dread brings Samus out of retirement with a bang and shows why this franchise is one of the most beloved series in video game history.
The pinnacle of Metroidvania, in every aspect. + Incredible boss fights, with a very rewarding learning curve + Hyper-responsive controls make controlling Samus a blast + Added horror elements revitalize an already successful formula
Metroid Dread dives us in a long awaited sequel which does not dissapoint. I really enjoyed the pace of the action which connects bosses quickly with a good level of difficulty. Despite the many Metroidvania that have been released in recent years, the original series is still kind in 2021. Nintendo is taking the series in the right direction and I can't wait to dive into Metroid Prime 4.

Metroid Dread is without a doubt one of the best Nintendo Switch titles. A return in the form of Samus, and a blow on the table by Mercury Steam that have given birth to a superb game that does not envy any other game of the genre. Well designed, replayable, agile control ... Metroid Dread is a must.

The game takes place directly after Metroid Fusion and we quickly discover that Samus is going to be in the battle for her life. She is drawn to the planet ZDR due to suspicion of a lone X Parasite on the loose.
Metroid Dread is an absolute joy to play. It’s roughly 10 hour adventure is well paced, the controls are buttery smooth which further helps Samus feel like an extension of yourself and by the end of the game you feel unstoppable with how second nature unleashing Samus’ abilities becomes. It contains the great enemy and world design we’ve come to expect from the series and retains the stunningly detailed Metroid art direction. I continue to love this world and characters and really hope it’s not many many years before we get another great adventure with Samus.
Another must-have Switch exclusive, and a modern reminder why the mother of the Metroidvania sub-genre still demands attention.
Metroid Dread es, por derecho propio, tanto para lo bueno como para lo malo, historia del desarrollo de software español, y una compra obligada si tienes una Switch en cualquiera de sus modelos.

Metroid Dread is one of the best action-adventure games that I’ve played in years. So yeah, just go and buy it already.
Metroid Dread convincingly shows that Samus Aran is, after so many years, still at the (or very near to) the top of the genre it helped define. MercurySteam's creation is exhilarating, well balanced and beautiful to look at; even the somewhat atypical E.M.M.I. sections are competently integrated with the rest of the game.

With its slick gameplay and the excellent world design, Metroid Dread stay true to the franchise staples. Even if E.M.M.I.s could have been better integrated in the gameplay, this is still one great, new, entry in the beloved Nintendo saga.

A surprise sequel after nearly 20 years, Metroid Dread brings back the legendary exploration and progression and merges it with excellent modern combat and some of the best boss fights ever.
One of the best Metroid games ever made and a thrilling restatement of everything that makes the series, and the genre it inspired, great.
