Critic Reviews for Cupid Parasite
Cupid Parasite is a lighthearted and thoroughly enjoyable otome VN for romantic comedy fans.
In conclusion, this is a cute visual novel about love, perfect for something around Valentine’s Day. The price for this game is $49.99 USD, which is a little much when dealing with a visual novel with this much content. On one hand, this is a much more serious topic with a niche crowd that will appreciate it, but will take some convincing.
I haven’t played a visual novel that goes about its thing with quite so much glee in quite a long time. Comedy’s always hard to get right, especially when there’s an underlying subversive quality to it, but Cupid Parasite never falters. It tells a great story in there among the humour and backs it up with an impeccable style and verve. This is one of Otomate’s finest.
Now that a third of the game isn't enough to make my inner English teacher want to have someone at the publisher see me after class, I think there's a decent effort in Cupid Parasite. There's still typos which I'm becoming more sensitive to, and the controls are a bit irritating if you're trying to do anything beyond advancing text, but it's a unique take on the legends of Cupid.
I have really been enjoying Cupid Parasite. The characters are interesting, the story kept me guessing, and the design is convenient and easy to use. Cupid is a breath of fresh air as a playable character, since she stands up to some of the behaviors I normally find so annoying in these types of games. If you enjoy Otome titles, you should absolutely consider adding Cupid Parasite to your collection.
Cupid Parasite is an excellent representative of the otome genre, being, in general, lighter than the other Otomate works already released in the West. Even with some occasional problems, the visual novel has a unique and charming style that helps make a romantic comedy worth trying out.

Cupid Parasite was enjoyable from beginning to end, which is not something I can often say about this style of otome. Top notch voice work, enthralling soundtrack, excellent design and solid story beats that kept me locked in and even made me laugh out loud.
