Despite the little niggles, FAR: Changing Tides is a delightful game that will work your brain and make you sit up and take notice of the world around you. The mechanics are well thought out and common sense will help you through in the majority of situations. I would highly recommend that before playing this game you do play the prequel as it will help you understand what is expected of you and I am glad I did that before sitting down to play and review this sequel. Overall this a game that is a voyage of discovery well worth persevering with and the rewards far outweigh the occasional gripes.

FAR: Changing Tides is the follow-up to FAR: Lone Sails, following a little boy named Toe as he leaves his home in a makeshift boat after an unseen apocalyptic event. There is no dialogue or combat, leaving all of FAR's storytelling to be interpreted by the player as they solve puzzles to overcome obstacles on their travels.

A post-apocalyptic narrative adventure, minimalist and with a great atmosphere, both visually and aurally. It is a continuation of its predecessor, but the journey on the high seas is still a genuine experience.

Offering puzzles and water everywhere, FAR: Changing Tides is an enjoyable indie to explore on Switch, especially due to its ability to create thought-provoking challenges and deep, peaceful ambience. There are some issues but they don't outshine the fun in progressing and navigating through the adventure's seas. Therefore, this title proves itself inspiring, creative and with a unique gameplay.

Contemplative and striking, FAR: Changing Tides is an indie adventure that should be sought out. The light gameplay and sparse storytelling may not be for everyone, but it makes up for these deficiencies with its gorgeous visual design and excellent pace.

Even with slight hiccups like this, I still adored my time with Far: Changing Tides. The gameplay and design are reminiscent of Playdead’s Limbo and Inside, while featuring a beautiful setting that really draws you into the world without ever saying a word. If you like puzzle games and are looking for a quick and scenic adventure, then Far: Changing Tides is going to be just for you.

FAR: Changing Tides doesn't surpass the achievements of FAR: Lone Sails – but it comes close – and is another example of Okomotive's considerable talents.

With a lot of the ongoing noise lately in the video game industry whether it is an acquisition, problems or too many big games that either delivered spectacularly or just disappointed gamers, here comes Far: Changing Tides to takes us far away from all of this, with its storms and waves, little hero, captivating music and rich story that is told without using a single letter through a world that hides a lot of memories

FAR: Changing Tides is more concerned with showing a story rather than actually telling one, and it absolutely works out in its favor. Yet again, the series manages to tell an entire story without a single line of dialog. There aren’t many thrilling moments throughout the journey, but the ones we do have are some of the most eye-opening ones that I couldn’t even imagine being possible, even in the last game. There are very few games that allow you to look inward the way the FAR series does. If you’ve played and enjoyed the first game, you owe it yourself to have this game be part of your collection.

A wonderfully unique concept, FAR: Changing Tides had me attending to a virtual vessel with the kind of love and focus usually only devoted to the most valued things in life. Its beautiful, handcrafted art direction, stellar soundtrack, approachable yet unapologetic gameplay and phenomenal world will draw you in and refuse to let you go. This is a voyage worth taking, no matter the stormy conditions.

FAR: Changing Tides has no enemies, leveling, or missions. It's just a beautiful game. It has only you, nature and the ship, which will take almost all of your attention. Well, there are obstacles to overcome. It is ideal for those who like to relax while watching the beautiful views. And for those who spend hours in the garage trying to start their car.

FAR: Changing Tides is a game that surprisingly inspires some deep thinking but also has a more relaxing pace when compared to pretty much everything else on the market right now. I loved every step of the journey and encourage everyone to make the time to play, what is sure to be, one of the best indies of 2022 and a perfect palette cleanser to break up the full-on releases we’re in the midst of.

FAR: Changing Tides is a relaxing, thought-provoking and satisfying trek through a dystopian and atmospheric world. If exploring every nook and cranny is your “thing”, then look no further as you will find it all in FAR: Changing Tides. Now if you’d excuse me, I’m off to buy the first game in the series from the eShop.

Sometimes between big and bombastic games like Horizon Forbiden West and Elden Ring you just want to experience something with a smaller scale, and Far: Changing Tides is a perfect game for this exact purpose. You can finish it in around 3 hours, but the melancholic feels the game provides won't leave you for quite a while.

A lonely but beautiful world. "Far: Changing Tides" is a sailing adventure game that calmly expresses the world that has already destroyed. And this game showed that post-apocalypse can also be beautiful. The lyrical graphics and sounds from the previous work have been upgraded. However, there are a lot of repetitive controls to handle the much larger map, which makes the game a bit boring.

Picking up roughly where the original FAR left off, and generally offering up a very similar (though longer and refined) experience, Changing Tides doesn’t reinvent the post-Apocalyptic wheel but it also didn’t need to...
