Make no mistake, Tekken 8 is one of the finest offerings in the long-running series. It offers plenty of modes to keep you busy while making it welcoming to both newcomers and vets alike. Dare I say, Tekken 8 is the best iteration since the ground-breaking Tekken 3.

Tekken 8 is another impressive addition to Bandai Namco's highly successful line-up of famous fighting games, combining abundant content and a very entertaining "easy-to-learn/hard-to-master" gameplay.

Tekken 8 is packed with modes, story, and customizable options that should allow players of all skill levels to have fun. Battles against veteran players in the multiple online modes will likely be a punishing experience for new players. However, the latest installment offers the franchise's best tools for mastering each of the 32 playable characters. Despite being more accessible than ever, Tekken 8 is challenging to master and continues to establish itself as one of the most complex and rewarding fighting games in video games.

"Tekken 8 solidifies its place among the greatest fighting franchises with its solid but short story, diverse modes, and extensive roster. The game excels in gameplay with a strong emphasis on aggressive play, making it ideal for those who enjoy fast-paced action. Customization options and beautifully designed stages enhance the experience, while the modern online mode offers fast matchmaking and stable connections. Newcomers benefit from the Special Style controls and learning tools like Ghost Battles and Replay and Tips. Despite a brief story and Arcade Quest, Tekken 8 is a fantastic game with minimal flaws."

Tekken 8 is a continuation of one of the most beloved fighting game series ever made and one that embraces modern technology to ensure its worldwide player base can enjoy its exhilarating gameplay to the fullest. While the game’s netcode isn’t as rock solid as recent titles like Street Fighter 6 and Guilty Gear Strive, it is a vast improvement to its predecessor and more than good enough most of the time. Tekken’s story, while short, combines its gameplay and narrative in ways its competition has not, making its story a unique experience worth playing in a genre that increasingly places the game mode as an afterthought.

There’s a reason that many in the fighting community say that Tekken is the best 3D fighting game and this is another incredible entry in the series. Not only does it have an impressive launch roster of 32 characters at launch that each feel different from one another and cover a wide range of fighting styles, you also have the ability to customise their appearance using the game’s slew of unlockable cosmetic items if you’re into that too.

When a game nears perfection, you can afford to be more critical. My only complaint about Tekken 8 is the subplot of the minor protagonists. Unfortunately, it is occasionally hard to tell how each new player fits into the main story. Furthermore, some characters lack depth and that could have easily been addressed. However, this issue is minor and rarely impacts the flow of the story. Accordingly, I love it and I recommend buying it here! Enjoy a fresh take on a much-loved franchise. Pick a fighter, master their moves, and become a world-renowned warrior.

Tekken 8 is an excellent addition to the series, and unless you're really nostalgic for Tekken 3, also the best one.

Here’s what it felt like at Tekken 8’s best: relatively smooth online play dissolved the bicoastal time difference and immersed me in a flashy and silly fighting sandbox. Boxers and martial artists clashed in fast-paced, bombastic matchups. My collected knowledge and frantic improvisation sent me into a flow state, laughing at each win or loss. Ultimately that feeling, not shareholder-induced rot, keeps me coming back. Tekken 8 can be tough to love, but for better or worse, I do anyway.

If you found yourself drifting away from the series because it felt like you were just going through the motions, "Tekken 8" is here to reignite that old flame. It's not just a trip down memory lane. This iteration is a high-speed joyride into a future where nostalgia meets innovation head-on.

Tekken 8 offers a ton of ways to fight whether you want to head online or you’re looking for a fully featured single-player experience. A lot of them are just okay, but when you have this much variety, something is bound to stick, and even when some of its modes weren’t blowing me away, the fantastic combat at the center of this experience did. This isn’t a massive evolution for the Tekken series, but fans looking for their new fix will get what they want, while new players will find perhaps the most accessible Tekken yet.

Tekken 8 came out a little later than the other games from the "rival" franchises. This is reflected in the Arcade Quest and Story modes, which are very similar to Street Fighter 6's. The story mode is not at the level of Mortal Kombat 1, however for a second story mode in 30 years, it is quite positive. The cast of characters is quite acceptable and perhaps this is where it gains the most points compared to the aforementioned rivals. Despite one bug or another, Tekken 8 is an excellent entry in the series and is a sign to demonstrate to fans of the genre that the franchise still has a lot to give. I can't wait to find out what the next battle this franchise will provide us with in the future!

Tekken 8 launches with a complete package for both the casual and competitive. It felt like nothing was neglected here as everything you’d wish or expect from a high-quality fighting game is added, with new additions that don’t feel like a step down, but a leap forward. I can’t see how Bandai Namco Studios and Arika could have done this any better, as Tekken 8 hit the ground running as the definitive fighting game experience.
