Monster Jam Showdown is a game for Monster Jam fans and that is perfectly fine and exactly what I wanted. Its not going to pull in fans of other racing games because it just simply doesn’t have enough depth, but for what it is, it is entertaining. Unfortunately, the entertainment can run a bit stale quicker that I would have liked due to a lack of variety in the tracks.
With its extensive monster truck roster, polished presentation, and a lengthy campaign featuring a pleasing variety of game modes, Monster Jam Showdown offers a fresh take on the series and is a must-have for monster truck fans.
“Monster Jam Showdown” excels when it comes to gameplay and pure spectacle, but Milestone’s attempt on revitalizing the franchise falls short due to its claustrophobic offroad maps, poor AI and uninteresting reward system. Here’s hoping that the team can turn this boat around and it becomes a gem like “Hot Wheels Unleashed”.

Monster Jam Showdown is a small improvement over its predecessor. The visuals are now more polished, as is the overall presentation of the game. Add to that the varied and numerous challenges, the great soundtrack and the multiplayer features, and we have an interesting game. It has some issues, especially regarding the occasional instability in driving, but it is still a good option for everyone's library.

Monster Jam Showdown is the new game in the Monster Jam franchise, this time from Milestone, which brings us all the official Monster Trucks from this tour of events. To be Milestone's first foray into Monster Truck races and events, they are not performing badly at all. They have managed to capture the spectacular nature of these monsters with 1,500 horsepower and more than 5 tons of weight with arcade-style gameplay and four levels of difficulty so that all types of audiences can enjoy the experience. If you like Monster Trucks, don't miss the opportunity.

With a great technical background, too, what's a bit lacking is the inventive in the single player campaign, with merely a largely repetitive sequence of events to beat with little reason or rhyme - one that even shows how little variety the game itself has, as of now, before all DLC or eventual sequels arrive. Personally, that's a prospect I really look forward to, because Monster Jam Showdown's base gameplay is really good, so I'd really love to see the format get expanded upon from here on.
Monster Jam Showdown is what fans of the live-event motorsport have been craving for. Everything about this game properly showcases what monster trucks are all about. Some of its downsides are the repetitive content and lack of variety in environments. This is a great start for Monster Jam.
There are a lot of positives to say about Monster Jam Showdown, and I hope reading this review gives a taste of what your experience will be. Having experienced the trucks in action I was able to appreciate the work that Milestone has put into this game. The effort to lovingly recreate the monster trucks in digital form. The love they have shown to the brand by putting all the different liveries into the game. All the while delivering a fun and exciting experience for the whole family to enjoy and take part in. In all my time reviewing games, this game has given me the most amount of smiles and the most joy.
