Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Reviews
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be a fun time for any 3D platformer and Disney fan, with all sorts of references to the past. It is a fascinating game that brings people deeper into the characters and worlds that Walt Disney created in his early days, and will be worth exploring Wasteland again for those that played the original Wii version thanks to the improvements made mechanically and visually. This is still a rather basic platformer that treads the line of tedium due to outdated fetch quests, and voice acting could have really benefitted the story scenes, but there is a great charm to this game, despite the darker tone, that will appeal to many.
Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a necessary, competent remake that respects the original, making what was already good even better. Its mature story speaks very well to older players and opens up a new world for younger ones by transporting us on a journey into Disney's past. A game with a great replay factor, simple and intuitive gameplay and a duration in the right measure that shows that the genre still has a lot to offer, bringing an air of novelty in the midst of so many more of the same games.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed remains a strange game but one that's compelling and rewarding. It's excellent that this Wii classic is this enjoyable all of these years after its initial release and it looks great this time around to boot. 🖌️
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed isn't the perfect platformer. The combat is still lackluster, and the 2D levels fall short—two flaws it’s carried over from the Wii. Even so, on the Switch, it’s the best way to play it, thanks to the 60 fps and a handheld mode that runs like a charm. For me, who remembered it as just a passing fad, it’s been a delightful reunion. Páramo picks up right where we left off, only now it runs like never before.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed was already a 3D platforming treat, and with this Nintendo Switch 2 version, gamers have the perfect place to play it on the go. It runs smoothly, it looks great, and with a free upgrade for existing owners of the Nintendo Switch version, it really is the complete package. Oh, and the fact that it just so happens to be a lot of fun to play is the cherry on top. Whether you’re a Disney fan, a 3D platforming fan, or someone who just wants an enjoyable game to play on their Nintendo Switch 2, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is well worth checking out.
Epic Mickey has always had limited mechanics, and Rebrushed does not change that. However, it offers a charming and unique world along with a strong sense of Disney nostalgia, which is still enough to keep players engaged. The game looks sharper on the Switch 2 and runs at nearly 60 FPS, making it the best version to choose for Nintendo fans.
Full of great references, whimsy, and creativity, this remains an outstanding platformer even by today’s standards
I don’t have a lot to complain about with Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. It took the creative but unpolished ideas from the original Wii version, adapted them to modern console standards, and wrapped everything up with prettier visuals and better performance. This Switch 2 port, in particular, delivers what the previous Switch version couldn’t: smoother framerates, better textures, faster loading times, and one or two inventive, albeit gimmicky, uses of the joycons’ new features.
The original release of Disney Epic Mickey on the Nintendo Wii had so much potential, but it was severely held back by the limitations of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed fixes all those issues and is exactly what that original game should’ve been. With over 12 hours of playtime and a fresh coat of paint, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is an absolute must-play for fans of the legendary face of Disney.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a stellar 3D platformer with a deep, engaging storyline that made me genuinely care about its characters and what happens to them.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a great time. It carefully revives Epic Mickey with great quality of life changes to the control scheme and tasteful visual upgrades that preserve the original style. The darker twisted storyline is a delight to experience and feels decidedly taboo given the properties at play so it’s really worth experiencing for Mickey or Disney fans.
Disney's Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a fine remaster that scratches that nostalgic itch, even if it doesn't do anything new with the material. Sometimes, it's just fun to revisit something familiar, and that's enough.

Visually, Rebrushed is a significant step up, with a stunning HD-2D art style that breathes new life into the colourful and imaginative world of Wasteland. Add in a revamped camera system, new movement options such as sprinting and a ground pound attack, and lots of technical improvements, this remake will surely satisfy those looking for their next epic Disney adventure.
Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a decent update of one of the Wii’s much-beloved adventures. As a Disney fan, playing through with my son was an absolute delight, smiling with glee as we registered rides from the theme parks and leaping off the sofa whenever we crossed paths with a well-known face. As a gamer though, my experience was – as much as I hate to say it – good but not great filled with intriguing worlds to explore and dated tasks to accomplish. Still, I had a great time overall and Rebrushed is easily the best way to experience Disney’s weirdly wonderful adventure.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a fantastic remaster that manages to resurrect a cult classic in a way that is respectful of the source material while updating it for modern audiences. The story is still great even after fourteen years. Plus, the visuals and gameplay have been tuned to near-perfection. While you can't help but wish for more additions to the story and world, the quality-of-life changes to gameplay and replayability make this the perfect way to play this underrated platformer.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is an example of how remasters can revitalize a classic without losing its essence. With refined controls, updated graphics, and a nuanced narrative, it stands out as a must-play experience for those seeking nostalgia with a modern touch. Minor performance and pacing issues don’t overshadow the charm of a well-crafted port that brings back the magic of the Disney universe.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is still a solid platformer distinguished by its paint and thinner mechanics. Perhaps the combat model needs some refinement, but it's still worth checking out. The artistic style is simply enchanting and the gameplay is fun!

HQ and Purple Lamp Studios have brought another classic back and better than ever! Though Epic Mickey: Rebrushed can be a little repetitive and still has some cameras issues, the game looks and feels better than ever.
Armed with a magical paintbrush that can paint or thin out obstacles to uncover the path forward, Purple Lamb has given players a colorful and delightful remake that is faithful to its original release. Truly delivering Mickey’s best and most epic adventure finally for last and next-gen consoles and PC.
