Edge of Sanity Reviews
Despite the quirks, Edge of Sanity is a challenging and enjoyable Cthulhu-inspired eldritch horror survival game thanks to its well-made 2D design and addictive resource management systems.
The blueprint for a title like this has already been set by 2017’s Deadwood, so it’s disappointing to see Edge of Sanity completely miss the mark in such a way, failing to provide a competent horror experience as it chooses to ignore its strengths to focus on tedium and repetition instead.
A fun experience with interesting mechanics that is only let down by a dull combat system.
Edge of Sanity can especially initially appeal to fans of survival games with an admixture of horror. But gradually it falls into a stereotype. The result is not bad at all, it's just a shame that the game can't maintain the momentum it has in the first hours until the end.

Vixa Games invites you to survive in the cold and desolate mountains of Alaska in Edge of Sanity, an adventure inspired by Lovecraft's myths that tests your sanity. It's a fun video game that captures the Lovecraftian atmosphere very well, although as the hours go by, it gradually loses steam. This is mainly because you have to repeat levels over and over again to get resources, and because there isn't much to do in the camp towards the end. Despite this, the gameplay is solid and offers some variety when it comes to tackling different challenges.

Edge of Saniy offers us a Lovecraft-style adventure full of monsters and puzzles in a remote part of Alaska. A title that is more about management than horror and works very well in all aspects except for the controls, which don't make the task any easier.

Is that a horrible tentacled thing ahead?
With a campaign, which in its 8-10 hours of duration, Edge of Sanity doesn't get boring due to its great balance of story and gameplay, challenging survival, and diverse resources and survivors to find.

In short, Edge Of Sanity is a great survival game that combines stealth, management and exploration elements, but it suffers from a certain monotony and frustration due to the forced grinding and a not entirely satisfying aiming system. However, the narration, voice acting and dialogues are of the highest level, giving the game a distinctive identity as a Lovecraftian horror with deep psychological thriller elements. The art design and audio department are very well-finished, contributing to creating an immersive and engaging atmosphere.
