No More Room in Hell 2 Reviews
It’s remarkable to see the tide turning on No More Room In Hell 2, going from a botched early access launch that brought in a large number of negative Steam reviews to one of the best action coop experiences of 2026. Torn Banner Studios have really turned things around for this game, and I’m excited to see what the post-launch support will bring.
Though No More Room in Hell 2 clearly leans into decades of zombie history, it feels, most of all, like a great mash-up of two of my favorite zombie games: It has the dread-inducing, life-or-death stakes of State of Decay wrapped in a tight co-op experience reminiscent of Left 4 Dead.
What Torn Banner has built is a genuinely tense, occasionally nerve-shredding co-op horror game that respects its 2011 roots more than almost anything else available right now.
This is the second time that you and your comrades-in-arms have had to face hordes of zombies swarming in from all directions. Is it still fun? Yes, but the combat system and visuals could have been better.

No More Room in Hell 2 is at its strongest when it reminds you that survival is supposed to be difficult. You are not meant to feel completely safe, and zombies are not simply targets waiting to be cleared from a room.
No More Room in Hell 2 has found an interesting combination of a cooperative zombie survival game and the tension of an extraction shooter. The extensive maps, scarce resources, permadeath, and the necessity to work together make for a cool experience. With seven other players actually communicating, the game can deliver fantastic moments, especially when a plan goes wrong and you have to improvise together to reach the exit alive. Visually, the whole package is solid and atmospheric. At the same time, the PS5 version makes things unnecessarily difficult for itself. The controls demand quite a bit from the player, and the interface in particular feels very cumbersome for a game where you frequently have to make quick decisions.

No More Room In Hell 2 has won us over with fantastic objective based gameplay, letting us pair up with up to 8 players to survive the madness. The maps are huge and offer plenty to explore, the new Survival mode is a great change of pace, and the constant risk of losing it all feels well balanced. If Torn Banner can sort out the buggy menus, we’ll have one of the best online multiplayer games we’ve played this year on our hands.
No More Room in Hell 2 is a great choice for those who enjoy cooperative shooting games and are looking for an experience where simply shooting each other isn't always the best solution.

No More Room in Hell 2 builds on the foundation of its successful predecessor. Setting this eight-player cooperative extraction FPS in the midst of a zombie apocalypse was a great move, and in some situations, the game manages to create just the right kind of intense atmosphere. It therefore has great potential, and the concepts—combined with the gameplay—can keep you entertained for many hours. Unfortunately, the game is severely hampered by technical issues and bugs, which are literally rife at this stage. But when everything works as it should, it’s a fantastic co-op experience.

If you enjoy cooperative survival games, No More Room in Hell 2, even in early access, offers plenty of replay value. The randomized elements and vast maps keep each session fresh, ensuring that no two runs are the same. While the game’s roguelike structure and lack of a save feature might not suit everyone, the evolving mechanics and setting create a rewarding experience for survival horror fans.
It’s safe to say, that No Room in Hell 2 delivers one hell of a broken experience, the developers have truly abandoned the roots of the original NMRIH, trading quality for a glitch-riddled mess that feels like it crawled out of the deepest pit of development hell. Teleporting zombies, disappearing enemies, and hitboxes are so bad that they make it feel like the zombies are smacking you from the underworld itself, which is just the beginning. It’s a hellish gauntlet of unbindable keys, broken voice chat, and floating heads that make it seem like the game’s trying to pull you into its own version of purgatory. Throw in the fact that there’s only one map, and it becomes clear that the developers were in a rush to throw this disaster out the door. It’s a hell of a ride but for all the wrong reasons. Performance-wise, the game is practically Satan’s gift to lag. Lag spikes, server crashes, and unskippable cutscenes make it feel like you’re being punished for daring to boot up the game.
