Basureroes: Invasion Reviews
Retro-style 2D action platformer on PS5
Basureroes: Invasion is a side-scrolling game that has a lot of fun stages and characters to play as, but repetitive music and odd gameplay choices make it frustrating.
Basureroes: Invasion has a simple pixel art and level design. However, with different character gameplay and game modes, it knows how to extract more than we realize at first glance and proves to be a competent action platformer, especially since it allows up to four people to play and also has numerous deadly arenas for versus mode matches.

Basureroes is a complete platform game that manages to have a robust gameplay with varied levels in design and a variety of enemies that make it more difficult to find that monotony while playing. Playing it in co-op is undoubtedly the most advisable because of the experience you live with the rest of the users locally. It is true that the sound aspect is not as brilliant as the rest but that does not make Basureroes a good creation of Spanish origin.

A fun and, in its own way, original game where playability takes precedence over the rest of the sections but does not neglect them either, resulting in a different title aimed, above all, at lovers of the retro.

Basureroes: Invasion doesn’t hold your hand and that is exactly why it’s so good. It respects the player, teaches through gameplay, challenges you without feeling unfair, and makes every victory feel earned. If you grew up on Mega Man, Contra, or Metal Slug, or if you love games like Shovel Knight or The Messenger, this is a must-play. That said it is not for everyone. If you’re looking for a relaxed, easygoing experience, this isn’t it. But if you enjoy mastering mechanics, learning enemy patterns, and pushing through tough challenges, you are going to have an incredible time.
Basureroes: Invasion is an excellent 2D action platformer. It doesn't deny for a moment that it was inspired by the classics of the genre, but it doesn't shy away from it and manages to show a unique personality, full of creativity, good humor and with enough challenge to please beginners and veterans alike. If you like this type of game, you've just found an essential title for your library.

What starts as a seemingly standard Mega Man-inspired platformer quickly reveals itself to be a charming and enjoyable surprise. With its varied gameplay, creative character abilities, and clever level design, Basureroes: Invasion manages to rise above its familiar influences. The addition of co-op play and alternate game modes adds even more replayability, making it a game that’s easy to recommend. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it delivers a polished and fun experience that fans of retro platformers will appreciate. Whether you’re tackling levels solo or with friends, there’s plenty here to enjoy.
It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but my word, it makes it trundle along as smoothly as ever, with a nod to the classics of the past.
