Reignbreaker Reviews
While the art direction is creative, other aspects of the game adhere closely to genre conventions, rarely breaking away from its inspirations. Though undeniably well-crafted, it may struggle to distinguish itself in an increasingly crowded genre.
Reignbreaker from developer Studio Fizbin and publisher Thunderful Publishing is a solid rogue-lite experience that brings a good story, wonderful gameplay progression, and motivating rewards to the table. While it stumbles with common enemy and level design, it has far more positives than negatives with what it delivers in its gameplay.
With each battle, you’ll face legions of hostile automations, smashing your way through intricate clockwork defenses in a relentless pursuit of liberation.
A Hades clone with a lot of spunk and gritty action to satisfy the cravings of anarchy!
Ultimately, Reignbreaker will scratch your itch if you crave fast-paced combat isometric combat and already beat Hades. However it also doesn’t really offer anything new to the genre, and with its clear winners and losers in terms of power-ups and repetitive enemies, the creativity feels like it stops at its art direction and character design.
Reignbreaker is a great rogue-like set in a dystopian punk world that feels more forgiving than titles like Hades.
Although a bit repetitive in terms of layout end enemy design, “Reignbreaker” showcases that you don’t need to overly rely on metaprogresstion to make a roguelike interesting. With a good cast, story and engaging mechanics, Studio Fizbin’s swan swong is not one to be missed.

Amidst the flood of roguelites released in recent years, Reignbreaker stands out mainly for its hand-illustrated art and frenetic combat. Unfortunately, the game falls short in the development of the narrative and characters, making its story more of an empty cliché. Clearly inspired by Hades, the title appropriates some mechanics, but this is not a negative point. On the contrary, it manages to stand out by introducing new combat dynamics and building its own identity within the competitive roguelite genre. Recommended.

Reignbreaker presents an exciting premise with its fast-paced combat and an intriguing world, but it fails to develop its ideas in a solid way. The gameplay is initially addictive with the spears and abilities, but ends up becoming repetitive due to the lack of content diversity and a narrative that does not evolve. The difficulty can be challenging, but it often becomes more tiresome than rewarding. Overall, Reignbreaker is a game that shows great potential, but fails to go beyond its initial mechanics. For those who like fast-paced action and challenges, it can be fun for a while, but if you are looking for something deeper and with more content, the game may not deliver enough.

Reignbreaker adds a new twist to roguelikes with its fun storytelling and gameplay this is a must play for anyone who loves medieval steampunk.
Reignbreaker is a decent isometric roguelike, but doesn't do enough to stand out in a genre that's getting more and more crowded.
