To my mind, there are two types of vampire - mopey ones who while away their days languishing in a castle, and bloodsuckers who revel in their power a...
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 isn't a game that stands out in any aspect. It sadly doesn't join the ranks of 2025's best, and is probably going to be among the year's most notable failures.
Bloodlines 2 has a massive potential and less problems at launch when compared to the first game. The characters, the world, the story are very good, and Paradox is a company know for embracing mods – who knows what the future will bring? I had a blast, despite some gameplay issues and absence of RPG mechanics, and fans of the universe should be more than happy.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a sequel in name only. A flawed but fascinating action-adventure that might satisfy World of Darkness devotees, but few others.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 feels more like a case of unfulfilled potential than an outright failure. While its main story offers a serviceable core, other elements like combat and quest design often feel dated.

In a industry dominated by safe, risk-free productions, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a bold game, even in its failures. The Chinese Room has created an ambitious work (perhaps too ambitious for its own means) yet one capable of leaving a mark. It's not the sequel many dreamed of, but perhaps it's the one this dark world truly deserved: a flawed title, yet brimming with personality and vision.

Bloodlines 2 feels like a game crushed under the weight of a legacy that has lingered in the dark for years. While playing, you find yourself mourning for not what it does, but what it couldn’t become.

Bloodlines 2 fails to capture the charm of the original. Gameplay is tedious and unengaging, and the attempt to revive the franchise feels unfinished. It survives, but leaves a lingering sense of what could have been.

Bloodlines 2 isn't a very disappointing RPG and sequel. It is more of an action game with some RPG elements. The world is fantastic, the lore is rich and captivating, and the story is solid. However, the game overall feels like the product of a troubled development cycle that somehow managed to reach the finish line. If you're into investigative gameplay and the vampire world, it might be worth trying but not for 60$

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a poetic, dark, philosophical, and engaging experience, with bold failed ideas and unfortunately obvious technical weaknesses. If you enter this world with patience and an eager mind, amidst the snow and neon lights, you will encounter a narrative that will stay in your mind for a long time.

Despite much of the game delivering an unpolished or incomplete experience with warnings in almost all of its foundations, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 still has some highlights that are well worth it for fans of the franchise.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has a wealth of issues, from an open world that feels wasted to combat that feels scrappy throughout. Thanks to a gripping narrative that you can shape with your actions, however, you'll likely still enjoy your time spent sucking blood across Seattle.

Whilst fans of the original may not like the stark difference between the two titles, Bloodlines 2 is still an engaging vampiric tale that, if given a chance, will sink its teeth into you!
Enticing characters and a good narrative are both cast into the jaws of a collapsing gameplay that cannot bear the weight of incomprehensible choices.

With a unique first-person perspective and technical aspects that leave much room for improvement, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 offers us a neo-noir adventure set in 21st-century Seattle. As an Ancient newly awakened from his slumber, we must investigate a dark plot while negotiating with the clans and increasing our influence in the city. As if that weren't enough, we'll have the help of a Malkavian inspector, Fabien, whose consciousness survives in the mind of our protagonist. Past and present come together in an investigation in which no character is above suspicion

Uncreative and extremely boring, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a huge disrespect to one of the most important RPG franchises.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 isn't that it does anything in particular very badly, it's just that it doesn't do anything particularly well.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a good game, but it will always live in the shadow of something it could have been and, worse, of a franchise brimming with possibilities.
