BrokenLore: Unfollow is a bit up-and-down with its delivery. It explores worthwhile themes of self-betterment but utilizes some conflicting messages to do so. Then, enemy scares are more jump scares than anything else, which get old quickly. The second half of the game proves more cohesive, and the experience only lasts a couple of hours. $30 isn't an unfair asking price for BrokenLore: Unfollow, but it will likely keep people on the fence if they already are.

Brokenlore: Unfollow is a solid horror title that's quite easy to recommend but hard to process. It doesn't pull any punches and that's a good thing. It's enough to make you ignore its minor quirks and is sure to have you wondering about what's coming at you next as you progress through the adventure.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW admirably delves into the murky evils of topics like social media obsession, bullying, and overbearing parents. Enough genuine psychological scares and clever moments make up for predictable gameplay and unresolved plot threads.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a genuinely obnoxious game that barely understands the things it's trying to be about, let alone how to be scary.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a psychological horror experience that tackles the darker side of social media, bullying, and self-image through a surreal and unsettling narrative. Its atmosphere, symbolism, and story themes stand out as the game’s strongest elements, creating moments that feel both disturbing and emotionally grounded. However, repetitive exploration, simple puzzles, and occasionally frustrating chase sequences hold the experience back from reaching its full potential. Despite its flaws, the game’s ambition and message make it a memorable indie horror journey.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a psychological horror game that does not try to please everyone, and that may be its greatest strength. It is a title focused on atmosphere, meaning, and reflection rather than action or immediate impact. Despite structural limitations and a pacing that demands patience, it stands out thanks to a clear creative vision and sensitive themes.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a game that is full of conflicts. In spite of its flaws, it is thoughtful but frustrating, scary but uneven, and sincerely sincere. It shows empathy while talking about bullying, being too focused on social media, and self-worth. Anne is a compelling main character whose problems feel painfully real.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW works in the end because it is what it says it is: a unique, intense, and personal scary experience. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone or add extraneous stuff. The fear is psychological, the story has meaning, and the gameplay adds to it rather than taking away. If you like old-school survival horror games like Silent Hill 2 or newer indie psychological horror games, this game will give you a short but unique ride.

BrokenLore: Unfollow is a short and sweet horror title all about the ills of social media and parasocial relationships. While it doesn't exactly introduce any bold new ideas and the frequency of jumpscares are a bit infuriating, the great portrayal of a theme that has been done to death, unique concepts in the narrative and gameplay, fun exploration, and replayability make it a great time for any fans of the horror genre.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is a slower horror game that focuses more on atmosphere and story. It works best when you’re exploring its environments, picking up on small details, and letting the story unfold at its own pace. The gameplay has a few rough spots, but the overall experience holds together thanks to a clear sense of direction and a story that gives you a reason to keep going. If you enjoy horror games that take their time and focus more on mood and storytelling than on mechanics, this one is worth checking out.

BrokenLore: Unfollow is a title that has a lot of ambition, with it packing in some cool ideas, effective jump scares, and a narrative that’s easy to get hooked into. However, as the chapters roll on and the experience shifts from grounded psychological terror to surreal, trope-heavy chaos, it loses some of its strengths, especially when paired with some fiddly puzzling and chase sequences that often feel a little frustrating. It’s almost poetic that in telling the story of a woman suffering from a fractured sense of self, the game ends up suffering from its own identity crisis. But hey, it’s worth a play for the story alone and it definitely has some bright moments, even if it doesn’t always deliver on its own ambition.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is far and away the most ambitious title in this series, and despite some faults it tells an engaging story.

UNFOLLOW is a competent entry in the BrokenLore franchise, delivering solid storytelling and atmosphere while struggling with gameplay and cohesion. It offers moments of genuine psychological complexity, but predictable mechanics, overused jump scares, and underdeveloped plot threads prevent it from being truly memorable. Fans of the series will find enough to engage with, but those looking for groundbreaking horror may find it uninspired.
