Escape from Tarkov Reviews
As the hardcore pioneer of the extraction shooter, Escape from Tarkov is still quite compelling, but it's also saddled with issues that range from technical problems to pay-to-win monetization.
Singularly unforgiving, dizzyingly complex, and like no other FPS out there: the extraction shooter's extraction shooter.
The desire to get high-value loot will force you to make stupid choices
It may not be the prettiest or the most approachable game, but Escape From Tarkov looks set to remain the premier post-apocalyptic first-person shooter in the market for the foreseeable future.
Escape from Tarkov 1.0 has, predictably, made me lose more sleep than is good for me, but I keep coming back for more punishment despite my better judgment. It is far from a perfect game, and it will never be the best game I’ve ever played, but it is a game I adore and loathe in equal measure. That dichotomy is part of the game’s draw. Nothing has such amazing highs and such crushing lows.
Escape from Tarkov is a solid extraction shooter born in 2017. Despite its technical limitations and uneven balance, version 1.0 confirms it as a unique, intense, and persistently engaging hardcore tactical FPS. It's not for everyone, but that's precisely what makes it special.

Escape from Tarkov's world is unforgiving, and is definitely not for casual play. Yet, its the challenge and engaging gameplay that makes it all the better. It's still weighed down by bugs and glitches and connection issues here and there, as well as the disappointing lack of (free) PvE, but it's a solid FPS extraction game for those looking for an extra hard challenge.
