Critic Reviews for Taxi Chaos 2
In the end, Taxi Chaos 2 is exactly what it appears to be. A fast, loud, chaotic driving game that exists to fill a very specific void. It may not be the return of Crazy Taxi that fans have been begging for, but it comes close enough to scratch that itch. This really is Crazy Taxi we have at home, and for fans of arcade chaos, that is not a bad thing at all.
Taxi Chaos 2 has a lot of depth with its abilities, upgrades, unlockable vehicles, and customisation options. The arcade mode is fun, and the core idea of fast taxi runs with drifting and smashing taxi bots is enjoyable. The world is changing around you, and the rare chaos resolvers add excitement. But the performance issues, glitches, slow progression, repeated customers, and frustrating camera make it a rough ride. There is a solid foundation here, but it needs more polish to truly shine.
"Taxi Chaos 2 is a great deal of fun to play and is certainly worth giving a go. It delivers a strong message that AI can simply not replace human jobs and does a fantastic job with its over-the-top viewpoint."
Taxi Chaos 2 isn’t perfect by any means; there are still many areas in which the game could improve. The game, however, is fast, frantic and fun with a vibrant and fun city to drive around and explore. Those who are into quick, short bursts of adrenaline-fuelled gameplay will enjoy the score-chasing element of the game. Whilst I’d love to have seen some multiplayer integration, I had fun passing the controller back and forth with my eight-year-old son, taking the game in turns. If you’re looking for a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously but provides short bursts of adrenaline-filled fun, then I would recommend giving this one your time.
