Humor? Check. Heart? Check. Satisfying combat? Check (if you want simpler tactical combat). Satisfying character growth? Check. Good gameplay? Check. Romance? Check. It checks so many boxes. Combat is smooth and satisfying, even rewarding at times. The voice acting is fantastic which is no surprise with the amazing cast of talent.

Ledgerbound is a provocative dance between engaging with incredibly entertaining dialogue from fantastically realized characters, and strategizing in a tactical turn-based combat system that doesn’t get bogged down in too many details.

Ledgerbound decides early on what it is setting out to do and as a result it does it very well. In the end, it offers plenty of entertaining moments, aided by a fun set of characters and the excellent performances of its cast, wrapping them up alongside strong and satisfying tactical gameplay to keep players fully engaged.

Ledgerbound is a semi-competent tactics RPG wearing the shell of satire. Unfortunately, that satire does more to uphold corporatist propaganda and stereotypes, while simultaneously glorifying real-world harms, than it ever does to tear them down. On top of distasteful storytelling, it is also plagued by numerous technical issues and a dearth of features.
