Madden NFL 15 Reviews
With gorgeous visuals, great presentation, intuitive controls and deep game modes, Madden NFL 15 is undoubtedly the MVP of American football games.
There remains room for improvement and I certainly experienced a few let-downs with Madden 15; however, this is hands down the best Madden game to date. And let's just say the future remains bright for the franchise.
The best thing that can be said about Madden NFL 15 is that it works properly, and that it's made some notable, positive changes to defence and play calling that really improve the whole experience. It's no secret that in previous years, the changes were subtle and lacking, making it fantastic to see the franchise finally evolve in a meaningful manner, with dramatic camera angles and intense defensive battles bringing the fun back. It's Madden season once again, and there is now a reason to celebrate.
Madden 15 gives veteran and rookie players something to take with them, as the overall package reaches a balance point worthy of the annual cost.
Football fans need not worry, it is time once again for the NFL season to begin. Madden NFL 15 will easily keep you engaged for months to come.
The long and short of Madden 15 is this; if you are a year in year out Madden fanatic, you will enjoy the latest addition to the series. It might not have a ton of new features, nor a breadth of new content, but there are enough changes to entertain, keep the games fun and challenging, and you have your football game for 2014/2015's season.
2014/15 is a good season for Madden. The defensive play and depth of control in each mode makes this a game that should reward series fans for a long time coming. It's also a good looking effort on the PlayStation 4. Superstar Mode is still a no show in the way it used to be, but the Connected Careers stuff encourages play with friends in a big way. If you have friends that dig Madden, Madden NFL 15 should be a good time. It's not a constant hit, but its success is strong.
Overall, Madden NFL 15 is a fantastic installment in the yearly football series. It isn't without its flaws, but this year's game brings great improvements in areas where the series was particularly lacking in.
A bevy of new features, particularly those for pass rushing and tackling, make Madden NFL 15 not only one of the best games in the series, but one of the best sports games on the market, period.
New defensive-line play and more defining accuracy with QBs highlight some of the many changes this year's Madden brings to the table. Unfortunately, not all the other tweaks are nearly as successful.
Even with the new mechanics, gameplay isn't radically changed, which will likely disappoint players who crave for more major additions. For folks who like Madden's basic gameplay, however, the new additions add some polish to the product. And while the lack of a major gameplay overhaul can be debated, graphics definitely take a big leap forward.
Madden NFL 15 promises full NFL authenticity, but in practice asks us to meet it halfway. There's a lot of great improvements. and the uncanny valley of NFL simulation is in site, but there's a lot more work to be done. It may not fully be the revolution EA Tiburon says it is, but Madden NFL 15 is still a really fun way to get your football game fix. Even after 26 years, Madden still impresses.
If you picked up Madden last year, there is arguably just enough new content and gameplay to merit the upgrade.
EA Tiburon delivers a Madden game to be proud of in Madden NFL 15, thanks in large part to a clear emphasis on bringing new fans into the fold.
Madden NFL 15 may not be the first Madden game released for the next generation of consoles, but it stands as the series' first truly "next-gen" iteration. That said, a couple of major issues keep it from being as great as it could have been.
Overall, the game is fun. It's Madden. You know what you're getting. They actually cleaned up the core gameplay rather than simply changing rosters and updating graphics, which is pretty cool. There's no in-depth MyPlayer component a la The Show, NBA2k or the EA's own NHL series. It's funny how the dream in NFL games is to be the owner or the coach, not the player.
EA Tiburon did a fantastic job with making the right adjustments for this year's Madden title. Improved defense and a more balanced offense makes for a fun football experience. Connected Franchise, Skills Trainer and Ultimate Team are just icing on a nearly perfect cake. The Gauntlet is the ice cream with the cake – take it or leave it.
It's Madden season, and this is the best Madden yet.
So that time of year has come--new games, new FOOTBALL!!! Ultimate decision time. Madden NFL 15 could be skipped, but you'd really dislike yourself if you missed out on all the good this year's installment brings. So stop debating, stop delaying, stop procrastinating and get your copy--you'll be glad you did. See you on the field!
Bottom line is, if you haven't played Madden in a few years it might be worth checking out again on the new consoles, but if you are someone who bought the last entry and are satisfied with that, maybe wait.
